Terrific Toadstools Poppin' Up Stripes |
P layful hello card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Melon Mambo Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of different colored stripes on white background design from Toadstool Gardens 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-3/8" x 3-5/8" from Melon Mambo Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Toadstool Gardens Designer Paper to the center of the large Melon Mambo rectangle.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon vertically across the left side of the horizontal designer paper/cardstock rectangle so it is about 1" from the left side. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Melon Mambo rectangle. Adhere to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Terrific Toadstools Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the short, fat mushroom stem image from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" horizontal white rectangle so it is about 1/8" from the bottom and about 5/8" from the left side.
Mount the single, small mushroom cap image from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped stem.
Mount the bug image from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp off on Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it on the right side of the horizontal white rectangle so it is about 3/4" from the top and about 1/2" from the right side.
Mount the set of two thin stems image from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp the tops of the stems along the bottom left side of the horizontal white rectangle as shown multiple times as grass. Stamp some of the images without re-inking. Vary the height and let some of the images overlap. Stamp to about 1-3/4" from the left edge.
Unscrew the fine brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Put some drops of Granny Apple Green Ink Refill into the lid of the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Squeeze a couple of drops of water from the Water Painter into the ink. Mix the ink and water together and get the tip of the Water Painter loaded with inky water.
Hold the inky tip of the Water Painter a couple of inches over the stamped white rectangle at a slightly above horizontal angle. Tap the brush tip end of the Water Painter sharply with your finger or Bone Folder to make drops of inky water splatter onto the cardstock. Move the position of the Water Painter around and get more inky water on the tip as needed until you've got all the splatters you want. Set aside to allow to dry.
Tip: The closer you hold the tip of the Water Painter to the cardstock, the larger the splatters will be.
Tip: Make sure you move everything you don't want to get splatters on out of the way before splattering!
Adhere the stamped and splattered white rectangle to the center of the remaining Melon Mambo rectangle.
Adhere the matted rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered top to bottom and is about 5/8" from the left side of the card. It should overlap the ribbon.
Mount the medium mushroom top with spots image from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the remaining, horizontal white strip.
Unlock the Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped mushroom top image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked. Save all the pieces.
Mount the taller, skinnier mushroom stem from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remaining horizontal white strip.
Hold the unlocked Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped stem into the punch and get it centered in the stem punching area. Punch. Keep all the pieces!
Adhere the mushroom top punch out to the left side of the horizontal white rectangle as shown so it is in the upper left corner.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the mushroom stem punch out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the center of the mushroom top at the narrow end and the fat end overlaps the grass.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Lemon Lime Twist strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "poppin' up to say hi" sentiment from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Lemon Lime Twist strip so it is closer to the right edge and the punched side is on the right.
Adhere the punched sentiment strip to the front of the card as shown so it is just below the stamped bug image and overlaps the right side of the main image. The punched right edge should be about 5/8" from the right side of the card.
Re-mount the single, small mushroom cap image from the Terrific Toadstools Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it on a scrap of the white strip.
Cut out the mushroom top image by hand using Paper Snips Scissors.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the cut out mushroom top to the back of the bug as shown at a slight angle as wings.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the bottom of the main image rectangle where it meets the ribbon already on the card front.
