Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sky Cardstock
- 3" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- scrap of either Daffodil Delight or Real Red Cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide
- scrap of Real Red Cardstock at least 1-1/4" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-1/4" wide
Adhere the Soft Sky rectangle to the front of the Daffodil Delight card.
Use the Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil to scribble all over the left side of the rectangle of Whisper White Thick Cardstock at an angle. Use the Real Red Watercolor Pencil to scribble all over the right side at an angle.
Tip: I like to use the Thick Cardstock for watercoloring because it holds up better to getting wet.
Put a little water in a container (an old embellishment container works great). Use a paintbrush to pick up a little bit of water and blend the lines scribbled with the Watercolor Pencils.
Allow the watercolored cardstock to dry completely. You can speed up the process by using a Heat Tool if you wish.
Place the dry watercolored rectangle on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Happy Birthday Thinlit on top so the "happy" will mostly be cut out of yellow and the "birthday" mostly out of red. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the card stock.
Pick out a Balloon Honeycomb Embellishment.
Unlock the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the larger scrap of Real Red or Daffodil Delight Cardstock into the punch so it will be punched out by the smaller balloon. Punch. Choose the color of cardstock you want depending on the color of the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishment you chose.
Cut two pieces of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine each 3-1/2" long.
Put some SNAIL on the back of the balloon punch out. Adhere one piece of the twine to the back so that it looks like the string of the balloon.
Flip the balloon over and adhere it to the upper right corner of the card front.
Peel the protective backing off one side of the Balloon Honeycomb Embellishment. Adhere the other piece of Baker's Twine to the bottom. Then, adhere the balloon embellishment to the card front so it overlaps the right side of the balloon punch out a bit. Don't forget to remove the protective backing from the other side.
Tip: If you are worried about the honeycomb embellishment getting smashed in the mail, then adhere only one side to your card front. Add a little note to the recipient letting them know to peel the protective backing off the other side and adhere it in place to complete their fun card.
Place the happy birthday cut out upside down on one side of a Silicone Craft Sheet. Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters and clamp the triangle edge of one quarter in a large binder clip. Squeeze a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on one corner of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Dab the sponge into the glue and then lightly onto the back of the cut out. Flip the cut out over and adhere it to the center of the front of the card at an angle. Let the cut out go over the strings of the balloons.
Cut a 4" piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon. Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Pinch the two pieces of twine together below the happy birthday cut out and adhere the ribbon knot over them using a Mini Glue Dot.
Mount the solid cake with candles image from the Tabs for Everything Set on Block A. Use the Crumb Cake Marker to ink up the cake and the Soft Sky Marker to ink up the candles. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp in the center of the scrap of Whisper White Cardstock. If desired, darken the stamped candles a bit more using the Soft Sky Marker.
Tip: Be VERY careful when cleaning this small stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. It can easily come off the block and bounce away and because it is clear and so small it is very, very hard to find!
Mount the tiny set of three candle flames image from the Tabs for Everything Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it on top of the stamped candles on the cake image.
Tip: Be VERY careful when cleaning this tiny stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. It can easily come off the block and bounce away and because it is clear and so tiny it is very, very hard to find!
Mount the outline image of the cake with lit candles from the Tabs for Everything Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the solid cake image.
Tip: Be VERY careful when cleaning this small stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. It can easily come off the block and bounce away and because it is clear and so small it is very, very hard to find!
Unlock the 3/4" Circle Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped cake into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Slide the smaller scrap of Real Red Cardstock into the punch and punch.
Adhere the cake circle to the center of the red circle.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the cake circles to the card front at a slight angle in the lower left corner so it overlaps the Happy Birthday cut out a little bit.
