Sweetest Thing Box in a Bag Treats |
B ox in a bag treat holders using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 3" square of cardstock scored at 1/2" on all four sides (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape)
- 3-1/2" x 8-3/4" from designer paper (I used How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper), make sure to cut so patterns are horizontal
- 1/2" x 8-3/4" from cardstock (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape)
- 2" x 3-1/4" from cardstock (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, and Gorgeous Grape)
- scrap of cardstock at least 1-1/2" square (I used Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana)
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
If you haven't already done so, use the scoring blade on the Stampin' Trimmer to score the 3" square on all four sides at 1/2".
Fold on the scoring lines and press with the Bone Folder.
Use Paper Snips to snip along one of the short scored lines on each corner of the square to make four little flaps.
Put Tear & Tape Adhesive on the four little flaps. Remove the protective backings and adhere the little flaps to the longer flaps on each side of the square to create a shallow, open-topped box.
Place the side of the designer paper that you want to have facing out upside down on your work surface so a long edge is on the bottom. Put a line of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the bottom of the designer paper and a line of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the short, right edge.
Tip: If your designer paper has a pattern that needs to oriented so the pattern is up, make sure you are putting the Tear & Tape Adhesive along the bottom edge!
Peel the protective backing about half way off the strip of Tear & Tape along the bottom of the designer paper. Carefully adhere the left end of the designer paper to the outside of the box on one side so the left edge of the paper starts about half way across the box side. Make sure the bottom edge of the designer paper is even with the bottom edge of the box side.
Carefully "roll" the edge of the box across the bottom edge of the designer paper until the designer paper wraps all the way around the bottom edges of the box. Peel off more of the protective backing on the Tear & Tape strip as you go. Make sure the bottom edge of the paper stays even with the bottom edge of the box sides. Press the paper firmly to the sides of the box.
Peel the protective backing off the right edge of the designer paper. Carefully adhere the right edge of the paper to the left edge of the paper folding a tube of paper attached to the box.
Put a line of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the center of the long strip of coordinating cardstock.
Peel off the protective backing on the Tear & Tape Adhesive and carefully wrap the strip of cardstock around the bottom of the designer paper where it is attached to the box. Start wrapping the cardstock strip where the seam in the designer paper is so when you finish the seam in the designer paper and the seam in the cardstock strip will be on the same side of the box in a bag. Make sure the bottom of the cardstock strip is even with the bottom of the designer paper. Press the cardstock firmly in place.
Fill the box in a bag with treats.
Pinch the top of the tube of designer paper closed on the left and right sides so the paper is flat across the top and the seam is on the back of the box in a bag.
Unlock the Circle Tab Punch. Slide the piece of 2" x 3-1/4" coordinating cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Fold the Circle Tab punch out in half.
As you are ready to stamp using the Tabs For Everything Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp
Mount the tiny, script "enjoy" sentiment from the Tabs For Everything Set on Block A. Ink it up with a coordinating color of ink (I used Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape) and stamp it in the center of the scrap of coordinating cardstock. If you are stamping several different bags and using a different color of ink for each, remember to clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub between each color of ink.
Unlock the 3/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the front of the folded Circle Tab punch out.
Place the bottom flaps of the Circle Tab punch out on either side of the folded shut top of the box in a bag making sure the sentiment circle is facing the front of the box in a bag. Use a staple and stapler to staple the Circle Tab punch out to the top of the box in a bag.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweetest Thing Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp
Mount the small "treats" label image from the Sweetest Thing Set on Block B. Ink it up with a coordinating color of ink (I used Pineapple Punch, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape) and stamp it in the center of the white cardstock piece. If you are stamping several different bags and using a different color of ink for each, remember to clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub between each color of ink.
Slide the stamped "treats" label into the 1/8" Circle Handheld Punch and punch a hole in the top of the label.
Pick out the small, open, label framelit from the Jar of Sweets Framelits. Place the stamped "treats" label on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the label framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped label. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Cut a 5" piece of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Fold the twine in half. Stick the folded end through the hole in the top of the "treats" label from the front. Pull it through a bit and spread the twine apart. Stick the two loose ends of the twine through the loop and pull tight. Tie a half knot in the two loose ends. Trim the excess.
Stick a Mini Glue Dot on top of the staple in the top of the box in a bag on the front side. Adhere the hanging "treats" label to the glue dot so the knot sticks up over the top of the box in a bag a bit and the tag hangs down over the center of the box in a bag.
Cut an 10" piece of Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green 3/8" Reversible Ribbon.
Tie a bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the top of the bag in a box so it covers the staple on the front of the bag in a box.
