Sweet Little Stockings Pet Stocking Greetings |
P layful Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/8" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/8" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
Place the large vanilla rectangle horizontally on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Pick out the small four-pointed diamonds mask from the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Soft Succulent Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the vanilla rectangle through the mask. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the stenciled vanilla rectangle to the large Evening Evergreen rectangle and then to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Little Stockings Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Christmas Greetings" sentiment from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the horizontal, thin vanilla strip. Make sure to leave at least 2-7/8" between the right side of the sentiment and the right edge of the cardstock.
Adhere the sentiment stamped vanilla strip to the thin Evening Evergreen strip so a bit of green shows along the top and bottom edges. The left and right ends of the strips will be equal.
Adhere the matted sentiment strip to the front of the card so it is about 7/8" from the top edge. The left and right ends of the matted sentiment strip will be equal with the left and right edges of the stenciled vanilla rectangle.
Mount the large, striped stocking image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set on the bottom of the vertical Block H. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Soft Succulent rectangle.
Pick out the matching, large stocking die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped stocking image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the stocking. Run through the machine.
Squeeze the lid of the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use a Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and color in every other stripe on the stocking cut out. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Adhere the colored stocking cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the right end of the matted sentiment strip. The top of the stocking should be near the top of the vanilla strip.
Pick out the cat face, dog face, or hamster face image from the Sweet Little Stockings Set. Mount it on Block B. Ink it up with the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Cinnamon Cider rectangle.
Pick out the matching cat face, dog face, or hamster face die from the Stockings Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cat, dog, or hamster face cut out to the top of the stocking so the paws hang over the top of the stocking and the top of the head covers the top of the vanilla strip.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Evening Evergreen 3/8" Chevron Weave Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the loop at the top of the stocking on the right side.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a Evening Evergreen jewel from a sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of one of the four-pointed diamonds stenciled in the lower left corner of the card front.
