Stylish Sketches Rainy Day Ducks |
M asculine congratulations card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and masking paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Shaded Spruce Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 4" of diagonal orange stripes design from He's The Man 12" x 12" Specialty 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2' from Masking Paper
- 1" x 1-5/8" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
Fold the Shaded Spruce card on the score line. Place it on top of some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Mount the leaf image from the Stylish Sketches Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it all around the outside edges of the Shaded Spruce folded card. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges. Change the orientation of the stamp every so often.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Lay the trim horizontally across the horizontal piece of He's The Man Specialty Designer Paper so it is about 3/4" from the bottom and the right edge of the ribbon sticks over the right edge of the designer paper by about 1/2".
Put a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive vertically across the left end of the ribbon to hold it in place. Make sure the bottom of the Tear & Tape Adhesive doesn't get below 1/4" from the bottom of the designer paper. Leave the protective backing in place.
Flip the designer paper upside down and fold the end of the ribbon to the back of the paper. Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive vertically across the end of the ribbon to hold the ribbon in place.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the designer paper. Add some Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper as well. Adhere the designer paper with ribbon attached to the front of the stamped card front so the bottom edge is about 1/4" from the bottom of the card and the right edge is about 1/4" from the right edge of the card.
Mount the ducks image from the Stylish Sketches Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the horizontal Very Vanilla rectangle. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the ducks image on Block D with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the piece of Masking Paper.
Place the duck stamped vanilla rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to color in the male duck's head.
Use the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the ducks' bills and feet.
Use the Light and Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the male duck's breast.
Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the ducks and the ground.
Use the Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends fine tip to color in some grass.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to carefully cut out the ducks on the Masking Paper by cutting just inside the stamped lines. Do NOT cut between their feet or below the ground line.
Remove the protective backing from the Masking Paper duck cut outs. Place the Masking Paper duck cut outs over the top of the colored ducks on the vanilla rectangle.
Mount the splatters image from the Stylish Sketches Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the top of the stamped vanilla rectangle as shown. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock and over the edges of the masked ducks. Remember to re-ink the stamp every so often.
Carefully remove the Masking Paper ducks cut out.
Adhere the stamped vanilla rectangle to the front of the card so the left edge is about 1/4" from the left edge of the card and the bottom edge is about 1/2" from the bottom of the card.
Mount the "So Proud Of You" sentiment from the Celebrating You Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Place the stamped sentiment on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color inside the block letters of "proud of you."
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored sentiment rectangle to the front of the card as shown so the left edge is just to the right of the female duck image and the bottom edge is about 1/4" from the bottom of the vanilla rectangle.
Cut a 3" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Slide one end of the ribbon trim under the ribbon trim already on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot so it is centered on the ribbon trim. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large dot from the sheet of Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the designer paper rectangle.
