F un fold Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 4" x 11" and scored at 2-3/4" x 5-1/2"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of tiny candies, white stars, and black bats on faded gray background design from Spooky Sweet 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the bats are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/2" x 4" of tiny candies, white stars, and black bats on faded gray background design from Spooky Sweet 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the bats are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 2-1/8" x 3-1/2" of white bubble outlined by green scribbles with black candies cut from Spooky Sweet 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-7/8" square from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/2" x 4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Fold the Granny Apple Green card base on both score lines to create a "z-fold" card.
Adhere the large piece of Spooky Sweet Designer Paper to the back flap of the card in the center.
Adhere the small piece of Spooky Sweet Designer Paper to the front, left flap of the card in the center.
As you are ready to stamp using the Spooky Halloween Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "Happy Halloween" sentiment from the Spooky Halloween Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal bubble with candies Spooky Sweet Designer Paper rectangle.
Adhere the stamped sentiment bubble designer paper rectangle to the back flap of the card so it is about 3/4" from the inside fold and about 7/8" from the top edge.
Mount the grouping of tiny sparkles image from the Spooky Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the white square. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Leave some room between the images. Rotate the orientation of the stamp a bit each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the square. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the grouping of tiny sparkles image on Block B.with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the white square filling in some of the blank areas. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Rotate the orientation of the stamp a bit each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the square. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Adhere the stamped white square to the center of the Pumpkin Pie square.
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the matted square so they are only about 1" from the left edge to adhere the square to the front flap of the card ONLY. Make sure that the square covers all of the sentiment rectangle on the back flap when closed. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the folded edge or the card will not open.
Mount the Frankenstein puppy image from the Spooky Halloween Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Pick out the matching Frankenstein puppy die from the Spooky Halloween Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Note: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them so that if the die slips, you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Put the Frankenstein puppy cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface because the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color the puppy's shirt and leggings. Also use the fine tip of the Dark Granny Apple Green Green Stampin' Blend to outline the scar on the puppy's face.
Use the Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends to color the puppy's shorts, lollipop, cuffs at his wrists, and triangle of shirt just below his chin.
Use the Medium Stampin' Blends to color the puppy's ears and hands.
Use the Medium Light Stampin' Blends to color the puppy's face.
Use the Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color the bolts on either side of the puppy's face.
Use the Stampin' Blends Color Lifter to remove any excess ink as needed.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored Frankenstein puppy cut out to the center of the stamped white square.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Granny Apple Green strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat on the other end.
Mount the "don't worry, eat sweets" sentiment from the Spooky Halloween Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched green strip.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip to the card front as shown so it overlaps the puppy's shoes at the bottom of the matted square. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the right edge of the square or the card won't open.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 black stars from the sheet of Shimmer Star Foam Stickers making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card as shown.
