Splendid Thoughts Simple Leaves For You

Supplies needed:

Project Recipe:

1. Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
   - card from Parakeet Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
   - 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
   - 2" x 5-1/4" of white leaf sprigs on shiny Fresh Freesia foil background from Splendid Day 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
   - 2-1/2" x 4"" from Basic White Cardstock
   - 3" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock

2. Place the Stitched Greenery Die cutting side up on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Place the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle on top of the die. Run through the machine.

   Note: This die doesn't cut anything out. Instead it creates a dotted design of leaves on your cardstock.

   Tip: Because the die is so big, I found it easier to put the die on the platform face up and then put the cardstock on top of it so I could make sure the cardstock was straight and properly positioned.

3. Adhere the piece of Splendid Day Specialty Designer Paper to the left side of the leaf stitched white rectangle. The top, bottom, and left edges will be even.

4. Adhere the white rectangle with stitched leaves and designer paper attached to the front of the Parakeet Party card.

5. Mount one of the shorter sentiments of choice from the Celebrating You Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Fresh Freesia Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the vertical 2-1/2" x 4" white rectangle. Leave room to cut out the rectangle.

6. Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a 2-3/16" x 3-9/16" stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is in the upper right corner. Run through the machine.

7. Adhere the sentiment rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 3/4" from the top.

8. Mount the large, spiky leaves outline image from the Splendid Thoughts Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Parakeet Party Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining 3" x 3-1/4" white rectangle.

9. Pick out the matching spiky leaf stem die from the Splendid Stems Dies. Put it on top of the stamped leaf stem image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.

10. Place the leaf stem cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.

11. Mount the large, spiky leaves solid image from the Splendid Thoughts Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Parakeet Party Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the spiky leaf stem cut out several times. Re-ink the stamp every so often. Change the orientation of the stamp a little each time. The images do NOT line up perfectly.

12. Adhere the stamped spiky leaf stem cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle so the bottom of the stem is in the bottom left corner of the sentiment rectangle cut out.

13. Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 2 large Orchid Oasis flowers from the sheet of Fun Flowers Resin Shapes. Adhere them to the front of the card over the spiky leaf stem cut out as shown.

14. Cut an 18" piece of the Parakeet Party twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.

15. Fold the twine in half. Tie a small bow in the center of the folded twine. Trim the ends.

16. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the twine bow to the front of the card so it is centered over the bottom of the stem.
