So Many Shells for You Swap |
A card I created for a swap using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Pool Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 4" x 5" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/2" from Pool Party Cardstock
Mount the "For You" sentiment from the So Many Shells Set on Block A. Carefully ink up the top of the sentiment only using the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad. Without stamping, ink up the bottom of the sentiment only using the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp the sentiment in the upper right corner of the small square of Very Vanilla Cardstock.
Pick out the smooth square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a smooth square that is 1-7/8" wide. Place the stamped Very Vanilla square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the smooth square framelit on top so the sentiment is in the upper right corner. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the scalloped square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a scalloped square that is 2" wide. Place the Daffodil Delight square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Clear off your work area so that nothing will get splattered that you don't want to have splattered.
Close the Crumb Cake Ink Pad and squeeze the pad in the middle. Open the pad, but leave the lid sticking off to the side. You should have a puddle of ink in the lid.
Squeeze the Aqua Painter over the open lid to get several drops of water in the puddle of ink. Dip the brush tip of the Aqua Painter into the puddle and swirl it around to get lots of watery ink on the brush. Hold the Aqua Painter over the rectangle of Crumb Cake cardstock and sharply tap the end of the barrel near the brush to make drops of ink fly off. Repeat several times until you have lots of splatters over the cardstock. Hold the brush over different areas at different angles and different heights. Get more watery ink on the brush tip as needed.
Repeat the step above to get splatters all over the sentiment stamped vanilla square.
Set aside both splattered pieces to allow them to dry.
Unlock the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. Slide the long strip of Pool Party Cardstock into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat until the entire length has been punched.
If your splattered Crumb Cake layer is dry, proceed. Otherwise, wait for it to dry or speed up the drying by using the Heat Tool.
Place the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out upside down on one side of a Silicone Craft Sheet. Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters and clamp the triangle edge of one quarter in a large binder clip. Squeeze a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on one corner of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Dab the sponge into the glue and then lightly onto the back of the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out. Flip the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out over and adhere it across the bottom long edge of the splattered Crumb Cake layer. Trim off excess on the ends.
Adhere the Crumb Cake layer to the front of the Pool Party card.
If your splattered sentiment square is dry, proceed. Otherwise, wait for it to dry or speed up the drying by using the Heat Tool.
Carefully trace over the word "You" on the stamped sentiment using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to give it a little shimmer.
Cut a 3" piece of Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon piece across the bottom of the sentiment square about 1/4" up from the bottom. Flip the square over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere them in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ends.
Adhere the sentiment square to the center of the Daffodil Delight scalloped square.
Adhere the matted sentiment square to the card front in the upper right corner.
Place the remaining piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. This will help you get a clean, crisp image when stamping with the photopolymer stamps.
Mount the more solid large conch shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad. Stamp once onto your Grid Paper (or scratch paper). Then, stamp along the top of the Very Vanilla rectangle.
Mount the more detailed large conch shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped conch shell image. Don't worry if things don't line up perfectly, you are going to be cutting things out.
Mount the more solid scallop shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp once onto your Grid Paper (or scratch paper). Then, stamp on one side of the Very Vanilla rectangle below the conch image.
Mount the more detailed scallop shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped scallop shell image. Don't worry if things don't line up perfectly, you are going to be cutting things out.
Mount the more solid sea urchin shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block B so that the arrow molded into the photopolymer is pointing up. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp once onto your Grid Paper (or scratch paper). Then, stamp on the other side of the Very Vanilla rectangle below the conch image. Make sure the arrow is pointing up.

Stamp it over the previously stamped sea urchin shell image. Make sure the arrow is pointing up. Don't worry if things don't line up perfectly, you are going to be cutting things out.

Paint some Clear Wink of Stella onto the auger shell, conch shell, and scallop shell as desired.
Cut out the shells using Paper Snips.
Adhere the shells in a pile to the left side of the sentiment squares using SNAIL Adhesive for the conch shell, scallop shell, and sea urchin shell. Use a couple of Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the auger shell.
Cut a 3" piece of Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon. Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends. Adhere the ribbon knot to the card front on the left side of the ribbon across the bottom of the sentiment squares using a Mini Glue Dot.
