So Hoppy Together Froggy Driver |
F un card to congratulate a new driver using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Real Red Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-7/8" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 2-1/8" x 3-1/8" from Real Red Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
Lightly spray the Granny Apple Green rectangle with water. This will help break the fibers down so the cardstock does not tear or crack when it is dry embossed.
Insert the damp Granny Apple Green rectangle into the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder at an angle so the stripes will be diagonal across the rectangle. Place the folder with the paper inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Mount the "You can do Anything" sentiment from the So Hoppy Together Set on Block A. Carefully ink up ONLY the word "anything" using the brush tip of the Real Red Marker. Stamp it randomly all over the top half of the large white rectangle. Stamp some of the words without re-inking the stamp. Change the orientation of the stamp every so often. Let some of the words go off the top and side edges. Leave the stamp on the block.
If the dry embossed Granny Apple Green rectangle is dry, then adhere it to the bottom of the stamped, large white rectangle.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Black/Silver 1/4" Striped Metallic Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock layers so it covers the seam between the two layers. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere it to the large Real Red rectangle and then to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Mount the frog with glasses stamp from the So Hoppy Together Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle so the top of his head is about 1/4" from the top.
Find the sentiment on Block A. Carefully ink up ONLY the word "anything" using the brush tip of the Real Red Marker. Carefully ink up ONLY the words "You can do" using the brush tip of the Granny Apple Green Marker. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it under the frog's feet at a slight angle. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub. Leave the stamp on the block.
Carefully ink up ONLY the word "anything" using the brush tip of the Real Red Marker. Stamp it on one side of the full sentiment under the frog's feet at a slight angle so it goes off the edge. Re-ink ONLY the word "anything" with the marker and stamp it on the other side of the full sentiment at a slight angle so it goes off the edge. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Place the stamped frog image on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light Shaded Spruce Marker to color in his belly.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Markers to color in the rest of the body. Make sure to leave the eyeballs uncolored for now.
Use the Light Daffodil Delight Marker to color in his eyes.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the stamped and colored frog image to the small Real Red rectangle.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted, stamped, and colored frog image to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and about 3/4" from the top.
Pick out a key element from the Classic Garage Metal Elements.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Black/Silver 1/4" Striped Metallic Ribbon.
Feed one end of the ribbon through the hole in the top of the key element. Hold the two loose ends of the ribbon together and tie a half knot in the ribbon just above the top of the key. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the ribbon knot to adhere the key to the card front so it appears to be hanging from the frog's outstretched hand.
