Snowflake Wishes Triangle Folds |
P retty, fun fold Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, glimmer paper, and adhesive sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 7-1/2" and scored at 2-1/2" x 5"
- 3 pieces each 2-1/4" x 4" from various patterns of Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper
- 2-1/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/2" square from Rainbow Glimmer Paper, cut so you get the gradient between blue and purple
Place the Balmy Blue cardstock rectangle on your Paper Trimmer so the rectangle on the left side is at an angle with the scoring/cutting line of the trimmer running diagonally from the top left corner to the corner in the bottom where the 2-1/2" is. Score.
Move the Balmy Blue cardstock rectangle over on your Paper Trimmer so the rectangle on the right side is at an angle with the scoring/cutting line of the trimmer running diagonally from the 5" score line to the bottom right corner. Score.
One at a time, fold the two side rectangles towards the center of the cardstock (valley fold) and press firmly with a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
Fold along the diagonal score line on the left panel as a mountain fold so that when the panel is closed toward the center so the sharp point is in the upper right corner and the free corner points off to the left. Use a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
Fold along the diagonal score line on the right panel as a mountain fold so that when the panel is closed toward the center so the sharp point is in the upper left corner and the free corner points off to the right. Use a Bone Folder to get a sharp crease.
Pick out the large, open frame die with snowflakes in three of the corners from the So Many Snowflakes Dies. Put it on top of the Whisper White rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the top and bottom edges of the die are even with the top and bottom edges of the cardstock. You may overlap the left and right edges of the white cardstock a bit, that is fine. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. You are using the frame cut out by the die on this project. You can throw away the interior cut out piece or save it for scrap cardstock to use on another project.
As you are ready to stamp using the Snowflake Wishes Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the frame cut out across the center panel of the Balmy Blue card so it runs horizontally across the center panel with snowflakes in the lower left, upper right, and upper left corners.
Mount the "Snowflake Wishes for a Merry Christmas" sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes Set on an Block H. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it in the open space in the frame onto the Balmy Blue cardstock. The sentiment will be slightly above the center line.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the frame cut out in place to the center panel of the card.
Place one of the Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper rectangles on your Paper Trimmer so the rectangle is at an angle with the scoring/cutting line of the trimmer running from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Cut.
Adhere the cut rectangles to the top triangle flaps of the folded shut card.
Place another one of the Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper rectangles on your Paper Trimmer so the rectangle is at an angle with the scoring/cutting line of the trimmer running from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Cut.
Open the card. Adhere the cut rectangles to the triangle portions of the open card beside the center panel.
IMPORTANT - THIS RECTANGLE IS CUT ON A DIFFERENT ANGLE! Place the final Snowflake Splendor Designer Paper rectangle on your Paper Trimmer so the rectangle is at an angle with the scoring/cutting line of the trimmer running from the top right corner to the bottom left corner. Cut.
Fold the left side panel in to the center of the card so it is flat. Adhere one of the designer paper rectangles to the triangle on the left edge (make sure you will see the top of the designer paper when the card is folded closed).
Fold the right side panel in to the center of the card so it is flat. Adhere the final designer paper rectangle to the triangle on the right edge (make sure you will see the bottom of the designer paper when the card is folded closed).
Pick out the scalloped circle die that cuts out a scalloped circle that is 2-1/4" diameter from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the Highland Heather square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the tool.
Pick out the smooth circle die that cuts out a smooth circle that is 2-1/8" diameter from the Layering Circles Dies. Put it on top of the Whisper White square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the tool.
Mount the grouping of larger snowflakes image from the Snowflake Wishes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it all over the white circle cut out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the circle.
Adhere the stamped white circle to the center of the Highland Heather scalloped circle cut out.
Fold the card closed so the center panel is horizontal.
Put one small (max length 1-1/2") piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the upper triangle flap along the center of the crease line. Put another slightly smaller piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive just above it.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and adhere the layered circles to them so the circles overlap both the top and bottom triangle flaps but are ONLY adhered to the top flap.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to the non-glittery, white side of the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the medium-sized, more detailed snowflake die from the So Many Snowflakes Dies. Put it on top of the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the glittery, Balmy Blue side is facing up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backing for the Adhesive Sheet stays in place for now.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the back of the detailed Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper snowflake cut out and adhere it to the layered circles on the front of the card on the upper left side.
Pick out the small, more detailed snowflake die from the So Many Snowflakes Dies. Put it on top of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the glittery, rainbow side is facing up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Put a Mini Stampin' Dimensional on the back of the rainbow glimmer paper snowflake cut out so it is in the center. Peel off the protective backing from the dimensional and adhere the small snowflake cut out to the layered circles on the front of the card so it is in the lower right side and overlaps the bigger, glimmery blue snowflake cut out a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large and small Balmy Blue gem from a sheet of Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card in the centers of the glimmer paper snowflake cut outs.
