Seasonal Chums Sweet Cat Bags |
F un gift bags made with Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 6" x 11" of design from Spooky Night Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Very Vanilla or Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- cat punched from black and orange cats on vanilla background design from Spooky Night Designer Series Paper or 2-1/2" square of Very Vanilla Cardstock
- scrap of Pumpkin Pie or Old Olive Cardstock
Follow the directions printed on the Gift Bag Punch Board to punch and score the large piece of Spooky Night Designer Series Paper. Don't forget to punch the ribbon holes across the top as shown on the Gift Bag Punch Board. Fold along all score lines. Trim off excess paper as needed with Paper Snips. Make sure that the side of the paper that you want to have showing is facing out and assemble the bag using pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold it together.
Fill the bag with treats.
Tip: If you are putting baked goods in the bag, you might want to cut a 3" by 5" piece of wax paper and insert it in the bag first. This will help protect the paper from any oils in the baked goods.
Cut a 14" piece of Vintage Crochet Trim.
Pinch the bag closed at the top and thread the trim through the holes. Tie the trim in a knot at the front of the bag so it keeps the bag closed. Tie a bow and trim the ends or just trim the ends.
Mount the "You're Sweet" sentiment from the Seasonal Chums Set on Block A. If you are making a vanilla tag, ink the sentiment up with Pumpkin Pie Ink and stamp it in the center of the small square of vanilla cardstock. If you are making an orange tag, ink the sentiment up with the Memento Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the small square of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.
Pick out the scalloped circle tag framelit from the Seasonal Tags Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped circle tag framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped sentiment. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
If you made a vanilla tag, use the side of the brush tip of the Old Olive Marker to outline the edges of the tag.
Pick out the tiny leaf framelit from the Seasonal Tags Framelits. Place the scrap of Pumpkin Pie or Old Olive Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the tiny leaf framelit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush to remove the cardstock.
Use a squished up Mini Glue Dot to adhere the leaf cut out to the top of the sentiment tag so that part of the leaf hangs over the edge.
Cut a 4" piece of Old Olive Baker's Twine.
Thread the baker's twine through the hole in the top of the tag. Tie a half knot as close to the top of the tag as you can. Tie the tag in place by tying it around the Vintage Crochet Trim on the front of the bag. Trim the ends.
Mount the jack o lantern double image from the Seasonal Chums Set on Block E. Ink up only the back of the pumpkin image with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 2" x 2-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Set aside to let dry.
If you haven't already done so and you are making an orange bag, then use the Cat Punch to punch out one of the black cats on the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper piece.
If you are making a black bag, then use the Cat Punch to punch out a cat from the 2-1/2" square of Very Vanilla Cardstock.
If you punched out a vanilla cat, then place the cat punch out on the work surface in front of you so the tail is on the left side. Mount the cat face image from the Spooky Cat Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the cat's head.
Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the cat punch out to adhere the cat to the front of the bag on the left side so the bottom of the cat is even with the bottom of the bag. Let the cat's tail hang over the left side of the bag just a bit.
Uncurl a Boxwood Wreaths Embellishment and cut it in half. Return one half to the box to use on a future project. Put Mini Glue Dots on either end and one in the middle of one side of the other half. Adhere the piece of Boxwood Wreath to the front of the bag so it overlaps the right side of the cat a bit and sticks up to the right.
Place the stamped pumpkin image on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Color in the pumpkin using the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker. Add shadows with the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker. Go over everything again with the Light Marker to blend the lines.
Use the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker to go over the lines on the leaves and half of the stem. Use the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker to color in the rest of the vines, stem, and leaves and to blend the lines.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the pumpkin image by hand.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the pumpkin image to the front of the bag so it covers the end of the Boxwood Wreaths Embellishment, overlaps the right side of the cat a bit, and is even with the bottom of the bag.
