Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Starry Sky Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of white stars on dark blue background design from Enjoy The Journey 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" of light blue and white streaks and clouds on slightly darker blue background design from Enjoy The Journey 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so you mostly get streaks, not clouds
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Pick out the die that is about 3-1/4" x 4-1/8" from the Layering Diorama Dies. Put it on top of the large stars on dark blue Enjoy The Journey Designer Paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is roughly centered and the one larger protrusion is in the upper right corner. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the rectangle with the opening cut out of the center for this project. Keep the blob designer paper cut out for use on another project.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the rectangle of designer paper with the opening cut in the center over the top of the streaked blue Enjoy The Journey Designer Paper so the larger protrusion is in the upper right corner.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sea Turtle Set, the Thanks A Bunch Set, or the stamps included in the Kindness Cards Kit, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "you shine like the stars have a great day" sentiment from the stamp set included in the Kindness Cards Kit on Block B. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it onto the streaked designer paper through the opening cut into the stars designer paper so it is centered in the protrusion near the upper right corner.
Move the stars designer paper with the opening cut in it out of the way for now.
Mount the long stem of fine foliage image from the Thanks A Bunch Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly around the bottom, left, and right edges of the previously stamped streaked designer paper rectangle so the foliage points towards the center of the rectangle. Let some of the images overlap and change the orientation slightly each time. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Mount the large sea turtle image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block E so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image on the horizontal rectangle of Basic White Cardstock so you get the top half of the turtle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned large sea turtle image over and mount it on Block E so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped half turtle on the horizontal rectangle of Basic White Cardstock. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the half turtle by hand.
Adhere the cut out half turtle to the stars designer paper rectangle so the turtle appears to be swimming into the opening cut into the paper. Let the flippers overlap the edges a bit as shown, but make sure the back of the turtle is tucked under the edge of the opening.
Lay the sentiment and foliage stamped streaked designer paper rectangle on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Adhere the large stars designer paper rectangle with turtle attached to the smaller designer paper rectangle so the sentiment is centered in the larger protrusion in the upper right corner.
Note: By adhering things on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet, you don't have to worry about sticking things to your work surface!
Adhere the layered designer paper pieces to the front of the Starry Sky card.
