Sea Turtle Baby Wipe Hello |
F un summer hello card using Stampin' Up! products, spritzing, and the baby wipe technique.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Tahitian Tide Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Thick Cardstock
- 3-1/2" square from Basic White Thick Cardstock
Note: Regular Basic White Cardstock will also work, but the Thick Cardstock warps less when it gets wet.
DO THIS STEP FIRST!
Put 20 drops of Coastal Cabana Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Put 12 drops of Tahitian Tide Ink Refill into an empty Stampin' Spritzer. Fill the rest of the spritzer up with 1/2 water and 1/2 rubbing alcohol. Give it a good shake to mix the color into the water/alcohol mix.
Put the large rectangle of Basic White Thick Cardstock vertically on a mat of paper towels to protect your work surface. Make sure all items that you don't want to get ink on are out of the way.
Spritz the Coastal Cabana ink diagonally across the vertical rectangle from the lower left to the upper right.
Spritz the Tahitian Tide ink diagonally across the center of the vertical rectangle in the same direction.
Set aside and allow to dry.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sea Turtle Set or the Circle Sayings Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large sea turtle image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block E so the smooth side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the center of the Basic White Thick Cardstock square. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Flip the cleaned large sea turtle image over and mount it on Block E so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up.
Fold a couple of baby wipes together to form a pad big enough to ink up the entire sea turtle image. Place the folded baby wipe pad inside a Stamp Case. Randomly drop dots of Old Olive Classic Stampin' Ink Refill onto the baby wipe pad. Drop dots of Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin' Ink Refill onto the baby wipe pad filling in some of the blank spaces. Drop dots of Parakeet Party Classic Stampin' Ink Refill onto the baby wipe pad filling in the rest of the blank spaces.
Ink up the large, bumpy, sea turtle image on Block E with the baby wipe pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped turtle on the thick white square. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the completely stamped large sea turtle image by hand.
Use the fine tip of the Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Write Marker to color in the eyes on the side of the turtle's head.
If the spritzed background is dry, proceed with the next steps.
Mount the large grouping of bubbles image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block I so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp it on the lower part of the vertical spritzed white rectangle as shown so the left edge of the bubbles go off the left edge of the cardstock.
Mount the block sentiment of choice from the Circle Sayings Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tahitian Tide Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the vertical spritzed rectangle so it overlaps the bottom ride edge of the bubbles a tiny bit.
Mount the school of fish image from the Sea Turtle Set on Block G so the bumpy side of the stamp is face up. Ink it up with the Tahitian Tide Ink Pad. Stamp the fish on the upper right corner of the vertical spritzed rectangle so the fish are swimming to the right and the right edge of the fish touches the right edge of the rectangle.
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the stamped and spritzed rectangle to the center of the Tahitian Tide rectangle and then to the front of the Lemon Lime Twist card.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the turtle cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 different sizes of jewels from the sheet of Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card.
