Scary Cute In The Forest |
S pooky Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
Pick out the large, oval aspen tree trunks die from the Aspen Tree Dies. Put it on top of the Basic Black rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered inside the rectangle. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick as needed to remove the pieces.
Note: You are using the large rectangle with the cut out in the center for this project. Throw away all the little bits and pieces.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to carefully cut out the center tree trunk and the branches associated with it.
Mount the Rays Of Light stamp on Block F. Leave the stamp rubber side up on your work surface and press the open Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad all over it. If you get some ink in the open circle, use a tissue or wet wipe to carefully remove excess ink from the circle.
Leave the stamp inky rubber side up vertically on your work surface with the open circle closer to the bottom right side. Carefully place the large Pumpkin Pie rectangle vertically on top of the inky stamp so there is about 3/8" of the rubber image showing on the left and top edges . Place a piece of Grid Paper on top of the cardstock/inky rubber and rub firmly all over. Remove the Grid Paper and the inked up cardstock rectangle.
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the piece of stamped Pumpkin Pie Cardstock on the base of the Stamparatus so it is vertical and is tight to the top of the Stamparatus base somewhere near the center. Put the cut down trees rectangle cut out on top of the Pumpkin Pie rectangle so all the edges are even. Try to make sure the rays of the sun go to all the edges of the trees oval cut out.
Pick out the group of three bats image, the vampire trick-or-treater image, and the Frankenstein trick-or-treater image from the Scary Cute Set. Place the stamps rubber side down on the cardstock layers on the Stamparatus base so the images will mostly show in the open areas of the trees oval cut out as shown. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamps stick to the plate. Open the plate.
Carefully remove the black trees cut out rectangle. Put the magnet horizontally across the center of the stamped Pumpkin Pie rectangle.
Ink up the stamps on the plate using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the cardstock on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: If the images aren't dark enough to suit you, re-ink them and repeat.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamps. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamps.
Remove the stamped Pumpkin Pie rectangle from the base of the Stamparatus.
Use Stampin' Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the black trees oval rectangle to the stamped Pumpkin Pie rectangle. Make sure the rays of the sun go to all the edges of the oval. Use Paper Snips Scissors to trim off any excess Pumpkin Pie Cardstock along the edges if needed.
Tip: If you need to, use the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends to fill in any edges of the sun rays as needed.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Pumpkin Pie strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Scary Cute Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Pumpkin Pie strip as close as possible to the notched edge with the notch on the left side.
Wrap some of the black Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack around the right end of the stamped and punched sentiment strip as close as possible to the right side of the sentiment a few times. Tie in place with a small bow. Trim the ends.
Adhere the sentiment strip punch out with twine attached to the right side of the layered Pumpkin Pie/Black rectangle about 1-1/4" from the top. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess Pumpkin Pie strip on the right side.
Adhere the Pumpkin Pie/Black rectangle with sentiment punch out attached to the front of the Pumpkin Pie card.
