Quiet Meadow Succulent Resist |
P retty thank you card using Stampin' Up! products and the emboss resist technique.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2-1/8" x 5-1/2" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" square from Fresh Freesia Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Fresh Freesia Cardstock
Mount the large spray of flowers on stems with leaves image from the Quiet Meadow Set on Block I. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large white cardstock strip.
Lay the stamped image on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Powder from the Basics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Place the heat embossed image back on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Soft Succulent Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush all over the heat embossed white rectangle. Concentrate the ink around the heat embossed flowers image. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Mount the text block image from the Quiet Meadow Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper, then WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it across the top of the heat embossed and blended white rectangle at a slight angle. Some of the image will go off the left and right edges. Re-ink the stamp, stamp off on Grid Paper, and stamp again across the image at a different angle. Repeat all the way down the image, just remember to stamp off each time before stamping on the image.
Mount the splatter image from the Quiet Meadow Set on Block H. Leave the stamp on the block for now.
Use a tissue or paper towel to wipe off excess ink puddled on top of the embossed image.
Re-ink the splatter image on Block H with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it a few times on the front of the Soft Succulent card front to cover the right side of the card front to about 1-3/4" from the bottom edge. Stamp some of the images without re-inking and let them overlap.
Adhere the heat embossed, blended, and stamped white strip to the center of the long, skinny Evening Evergreen strip. Then, adhere it to the left side of the stamped Soft Succulent card about 1/4" from the left edge.
Pick out the large, fern-like leaves die from the Meadow Dies. Put it on top of the remaining large Evening Evergreen rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the fern leaves cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the right side of the heat embossed flower strip and the bottom of the stem is near the bottom of the stems of the heat embossed image. Try to leave the lower leaf bunch on the right side loose so you can slide the sentiment cut out under it in a later step.
Mount the one line sentiment of your choice from the Quiet Meadow Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining skinny white strip leaving room to cut it out.
Pick out the long, skinny label die from the Meadow Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered top to bottom and closer to the right end. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Adhere the sentiment label cut out to the front of the card so the top of the label tucks under the bottom right leaf cluster of the fern leaves cut out and the right edge is about 1/4" from the right edge of the card and the bottom edge is about 3/4" from the bottom of the card.
Mount the single, large flower image from the Quiet Meadow Set on Block C. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Fresh Freesia square.
Rub a different Blending Brush across the open Fresh Freesia Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush all over the heat embossed flower image. Concentrate the ink around the center of the flower. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use a tissue or paper towel to wipe off excess ink puddled on top of the embossed image.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the heat embossed and blended flower image by hand.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the heat embossed and blended flower cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottoms of the stems and the left end of the sentiment label cut out.
Pick out the open-winged, small butterfly die from the Meadow Dies. Put it on top of the remaining small Fresh Freesia rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the butterfly cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle just above the fern leaves cut out and slightly overlapping the right edge of the heat embossed flowers strip.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up two Gorgeous Grape pearls from the sheet of Pastel Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere one to the center of the buttefly cut out and the other to the lower left side of the center of the flower cut out.
