Pocketful of Sunshine Plaid Shirt Pocket Money
F un card for giving a gift of money using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 3-3/4" square from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1" wide
Place the Buffalo Check background stamp rubber side up on Grid Paper on your work surface . Ink up the stamp by pouncing or rubbing the Basic Gray Ink Pad all over it. Leave the inked up stamp face up on your work surface. Carefully place the large Cherry Cobbler rectangle on the stamp. Fold the Grid Paper up and over the top of everything and rub firmly all over. Using the Grid Paper protects your hands from getting ink on them.
Tip: I just clean my background stamps by running them under water until the water runs clear. Then, I let them air dry.
Adhere the stamped Cherry Cobbler rectangle to the Basic Gray rectangle and then to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Pocketful of Sunshine Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the stitched pocket outline image from the Pocketful of Sunshine Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Cherry Cobbler square.
Mount the straight stitching lines image from the Pocketful of Sunshine Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it across the top of the stamped pocket image.
Mount the "a little pocket" and either the "money" or "change" sentiments from the Pocketful of Sunshine Set together on Block C so the "a little pocket" is on top and slightly to the right side (when stamped this will be slightly to the left) and the "money" or "change" is just below it and slightly to the left (this will be slightly to the right when stamped). Ink up the sentiments with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp them in the center of the stamped pocket image.
Pick out the pocket framelit from the Pocket Framelits. Place the stamped pocket image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the pocket framelit on top so it is centered over the stamped pocket image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use a Bone Folder to fold the tabs along the sides and bottom of the pocket cut out.
Mount the open rectangle tag image from the Pocketful of Sunshine Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the scrap of white cardstock.
Pick out one of the tiny, single words or abbreviations images from the Pocketful of Sunshine Set. Mount it on Block A. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the open rectangle tag image.
Pick out the tag framelit from the Pocket Framelits. Place the stamped tag image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the tag framelit on top so it is centered over the image with the tag portion on the right and the tab part on the left. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the tabs on the back of the pocket cut out. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess Tear & Tape Adhesive along the edges if desired. Make sure NOT to get any adhesive along the top of the pocket or in the center.
Peel off the protective backing from the Tear & Tape on the tab that will be on the right side of the pocket when the pocket is face up. Adhere the tag to the bottom so it will be on the bottom right of the pocket when the pocket is face up.
Remove the protective backings from the rest of the tabs on the pocket and carefully adhere the pocket to the front of the card so the bottom tip of the pocket is in the center about 3/4" from the bottom of the card.
Tip: I mounted my pocket slightly angled, but I think it would look more like a pocket on a plaid shirt if it was mounted straight!
Add some folded money or a gift card to the pocket if desired before sending the card off to brighten someone's day.
