Plentiful Plants Lattice Planter |
P retty card for a friend using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2" x 3-3/4" of various green plants on lightly mottled white background design from In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the plants are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2" x 2-3/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" from Evening Evergreen Cardstock
- 1/4" x 3-3/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
Use Paper Snips to cut the short edge off of one Paper Lattice so you have a piece that is 1-1/4" wide by 3-5/16" long.
Use the short, open, single vine die from the Big Cats Dies to cut out three matching vines of slightly different shades of green from the sheet of vines on lightly mottled white background design from the In The Wild 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.
If you haven't already done so, use Paper Snips to cut off the piece of Paper Lattice as outlined in the step above.
As you are ready to stamp using the Plentiful Plants Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the piece of Paper Lattice on the vertical Crumb Cake rectangle so it goes down the left edge with the left side of the lattice being about 1/4" from the left side of the Crumb Cake rectangle and the top of the lattice being about 3/16" from the top of the Crumb Cake rectangle. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the rectangle of In The Wild Designer Paper on the bottom of the Crumb Cake rectangle so about 1/8" of Crumb Cake shows on the bottom, left, and right edges. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the skinny strip of Soft Succulent on the rectangle so it covers the seam across the top of the designer paper.
Mount the "love you" sentiment or the "to a dear friend" sentiment from the Plentiful Plants Set on Block G. Ink up the entire "love you" sentiment using the Soft Succulent Ink Pad OR ink up ONLY the words "dear friend" on the other sentiment using the brush tip of the Soft Succulent Marker. Breathe on the stamp if needed to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment just above the thin Soft Succulent strip on the right side.
When happy with the stamping of the sentiment, adhere the Paper Lattice piece, designer paper piece, and thin strip of Soft Succulent cardstock in place. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen behind the filled in dots of the lattice piece and on the back of the thin cardstock strip. Use Stampin' Seal on the back of the designer paper piece.
Adhere the stamped Crumb Cake rectangle with designer paper, paper lattice, and thin strip of cardstock attached to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
Mount the flower pot image from the Plentiful Plants Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Crumb Cake square.
Pick out the flower pot die from the Perfect Plants Dies. Put it on top of the stamped flower pot image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the flower pot image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the flower pot cut out to the front of the card so the top of the flower pot is even with the top of the thin strip of Soft Succulent Cardstock and the left edge of the top of the pot is about 3/4" from the left side of the card.
Mount the large, multi-leaved plant image from the Plentiful Plants Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Soft Succulent Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the larger Soft Succulent rectangle.
Pick out the matching, multi-leaved plant die from the Perfect Plants Dies. Put it on top of the stamped plant leaves image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the plant leaves image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the plant cut out to the front of the card so the bottom of the plant is tucked under the top of the flower pot and it is centered over the flower pot side to side. Make sure none of the leaves cover any of the stamped sentiment.
Pick out one of the solid, small, round-bottom flower pot dies from the Perfect Plants Dies. Put it on top of the smaller rectangle of Soft Succulent Cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the small flower pot cut out to the front of the card so it appears to be hanging from one of the cross bars of the lattice piece just above the leaves of the large plant cut out (they may overlap just a bit).
Pick out the small, spiky plant die from the Perfect Plants Dies. Put it on top of the small rectangle of Evening Evergreen Cardstock on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the spiky plant cut out to the front of the card so the bottom edge is tucked behind the top of the small flower pot cut out and it is centered side to side.
If you haven't already done so, pick out the short, open, single vine die from the Big Cats Dies that matches the vines on the In The Wild Designer Paper. Put it on top of a vine on the designer paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat until you have 3 vines cut out of slightly different greens. It's okay if one of them isn't a full vine, you can tuck it behind the other two.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the designer paper vine cut outs to the upper right corner of the card so they overlap each other a bit and hang down. Leave a little room at the top between the tops of the vines and the top of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card so it is centered over the tops of the three vine cut outs.
