Playful Penguins Trio of Penguins Wishes |
P layful holiday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Coastal Cabana Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1/2" x 5-1/4" of mottled Coastal Cabana design from Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Mount the "Merriest Wishes" sentiment from the Playful Penguins Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Merry Merlot Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the large (4" x 5-1/4") Whisper White rectangle.
Mount the penguin looking to the left with his wings down by his sides on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the large white rectangle so the top of his head is about 1/2" from the top and the end of his beak is about 3/4" from the left side.
Mount the penguin looking to the left with his wings slightly raised on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the large white rectangle so the tip of his beak is about 7/8" from the top and his right wing is about 1/4" from the right side.
Shake the bottle of Snowfall Accents Puff Paint very well.
Put a puddles of puff paint under the feet of both penguins and extend it down and to the left a bit in the center. Remember that the puff paint will get bigger as you heat it. Make sure NOT to get the puff paint too close to the stamped sentiment or it will run.
Use the Heat Tool to heat the puff paint. Hold the Heat Tool directly over one area of puff paint at a time until it starts to dry and puff up. Continue to hold the Heat Tool over the puff paint until it has puffed quite a bit. Then, do the other areas of puff paint the same way.
Tip: When you think the puff paint is done, hold the Heat Tool over it a little longer to make sure it is done.
Tip: Do NOT use puff paint with water-based regular inks as it will make them run. It does work on images stamped with the Memento Pad though!
Adhere the strip of Follow Your Art Designer Paper to the left side of the stamped and puffed white rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Lay the ribbon across the white/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two. Secure in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Coastal Cabana card.
Mount the penguin looking to the right with his wings raised image from the Playful Penguins Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the medium (2-1/4" x 2-3/4") white rectangle.
Cut out the penguin by hand using Paper Snips.
Mount the scarf image from the Playful Penguins Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" white strip. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the scarf image on Block B with the Merry Merlot Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the scarf image again on the other end of the white strip. Clean the stamp and put it away.
Cut out the scarves by hand using Paper Snips.
Adhere the Merry Merlot scarves to the penguins on the card front.
Adhere the Coastal Cabana scarf to the cut out penguin.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out penguin to the card front so he is centered between the other two penguins and his feet are slightly lower than the right penguin's feet and overlap the puff paint.
Cut a 10" piece of Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Tie the twine to the twine already on the card front near the top using a small bow. Trim the ends.
