Petal Passion Birthday Card |
|
H appy 2018 everyone! I'm so excited about the new Occations catalog and the Sale-a-bration items coming out! I wanted to highlight one of the beautiful DSP Papers for you with a simple but lovely Birthday Card. This also features our new Stampin Blends Premier Alcohol Pens that perfectly match our Stampin' Up colors. Let me know what you think!

This card starts with a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score at 4 1/4" and fold. Next cut a piece of Berry Burst Cardstock to 5 1/4" x 4". Then cut a piece of the Petal Passion DSP with the large flowers to 5" x 3 3/4".
Now using both Basic Black cardstock and the Iridescent paper from the Myths & Magic Glimmer set, use the Happy Birthday Thinlets to cut out one diecut image from each color. Now slightly offset the black behind the glitter paper to create a drop shadow effect as shown, glue together.
After the glue or adhesive is set, put several small Dementionals on the back and set aside.
Now the really fun part begins! Take the piece of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and your Stampin Blends and color it to your liking! The great part about the pens is you really cant go wrong. The colors match our inks and papers, and there is a light and dark version of each color. I tend to use the light color first, then the darker to use as shading. Then I go back with the color lifter pen to further blend the colors. With a little practice you can really achieve some beautiful effects!
Now put adhesive on the back of the DSP and center on the Berry Burst paper.
Cut a bit of the Berry Burst Metalic-edge Ribbon to about 6 1/2". On one side use snail adhesive along the length.
Fold the edges of the ribbon over the card so it sticks to the back on each end, making a clean wrapped look. Now center the whole thing on your Whisper White card. Make sure to check that its going on so the card opens on the right side.
You can now take the diecut of Happy Birthday you made and removing the paper backing on the dimentionals, place on the card where you would like it. Add a few Rhinestones for a little bit of bling!
I chose to use stamps from the "Amazing You*" set for the inside sentiment, including a flower for decoration from the same set, stamped in Basic Black and Pink Pirouette inks. To finish the project, I use the same flower stamp to decorate the envelope flap so it matches the card.
*The "Amazing You" stamp set can be earned for FREE during our Sale-A-Bration with a purchase of $50.00 or more! Visit my site for this and other great items you can earn for Free!
