Paper Pumpkin January 2018-Alternate Project |
|
H ave you tried Paper Pumpkin yet? This once a month, all inclusive kit is so much fun for the beginning stamper and the experienced alike...all for only $20 a month! The kit comes with directions for making the project, but you aren't limited to that alone. With a little imagination you can create anything you like! This is my alternate project from the "Heartfelt Love Notes" set. I hope you like it!

The Heartfelt Love Notes kit comes with everything you need to make 16 cards. It comes with envelopes & includes embellishments, adhesives, a stamp set and ink. For this alternate card I am also going to use Silver and Gold Foil sheets, Year of Cheer washi tape, Gold thread, & one of the dies from the Sweet Cake Framelet set.
Let's start by taking one of the cards that has the diagonal stripes on it. Use the thin gold & silver Year of Cheer washi tape, and alternating the colors, line it up in between the white lines on the bottom of the card. It fits quite nicely between the lines. I also left black stripe in between the silver and gold stripes.
When you are done, trim off the excess washi tape on both sides, as close as possible. Make sure to firmly press it down so it adheres well.
Find one of the vellum pre-cut hearts, and the X0X0 stamp from the paper pumpkin set. Rub the Embossing buddy over the whole heart, then stamp on the heart in several places, with Versamark ink.
Now dust the heart with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder. gently tap off the excess until it is only stuck to the inked areas. Note: I like to do this on a paper plate, as it is easy to fold and get the excess powder back into the container. Now using your Heat gun, melt until it shines.
After it cools, go back and stamp again in the areas you left blank. Dust this time with the Gold Stampin' Emboss powder, and repeat the above process.
Next you will need to find the die from the Sweet Cake framelits that is leaves. Cut this out once in Silver and Gold Foil paper on your Bigshot, remove carefully from the die and set aside.
Time to decorate the top half of the card now. Find the Calypso Coral sticker tag from the kit. I had some extra hearts I cut out with a heart punch, so a grabbed one of those too.(The paper I used was from the Painted with Love DSP)
First, put the Foil pieces down on the card as shown & attach with glue or snail adhesive.(What ever you prefer). Then take the Calypso Coral sticker tag and Put it in the middle. Use a glue dot from the kit to anchor the Vellum heart on top of the sticker as shown.
Put a Stampin dimentional, also found in your Paper Pumpkin kit on the back of the extra heart. Get the Gold thread and wrap several times around your 4 fingers. Twist it once in the middle making a figure 8, then stick it to the back of the heart. Fan out the thread slightly adjusting it to your liking. Now turn it over and place it on top of the vellum heart. Add a few Enamel dots, and the front is done.
Find the white card with the scalloped top and put the gold and silver washi tape diagonally on the upper left corner, lining it up with the scallops. Trim off the excess on both sides.
Find the stamp that says "Sending hugs and kisses to you" from the kit, and use the Rich Razzelberry ink spot to ink up the stamp.
Stamp the sentiment in the upper right side of the white card. Embellish with one of the cut out foil leaves and an enamel dot, and place the card in side the pocket.
Tie a bow through the slots of the card on the upper right side. Decorate the envelope included in the kit with more washi tape and the little envelope with hearts, X's & 0's using the Rich Razzleberry ink again, and the project is finished! You have a beautiful Valentine for a friend or a loved one!
