Pansy Petals (using scraps) |
T
his is an easy card using scraps of DSP. You'll need a piece of DSP that is about 4"long by 1-1/2" wide and cut it as shown. Space it out a bit on Basic White or Very Vanilla cardstock that has been embossed with a background design. Adhere it to a coordinating piece of cardstock, add a greeting and embellishments and you're done.
Instructions are available in the Gallery at the top of my blog.

Cut your cardstock and DSP:
1) Card base: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score and fold.
2) Basic White or Very Vanilla cardstock: 4" x 5-1/4". You'll need 2 pieces -- one for the top layer and one for inside.
3) DSP: 4" x 1-1/2". Along one edge, make marks 1/2" from both ends. Along the other long edge, make a mark in the middle at the 2" mark. Use your trimmer to cut from one 1/2" mark to the 2" mark and from the other 1/2" mark to the 2" mark
4) Scrap piece of cardstock for the greeting
Using an embossing folder, run one piece of the Basic White or Very Vanilla cardstock through your Cut & Emboss machine. I used the Subtle folder (retired).
1) Stamp your greeting on a scrap piece of cardstock using Black ink. Trim as desired. I used the Inpired Thoughts stamp set.
2) Punch one end of the greeting with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch and the other end with the Banners Pick a Punch.
Assemble the card:
1) Adhere the embossed Basic White or Very Vanilla cardstock to the front of the card base with the fold to the left side.
2) Adhere the remaining piece of Basic White or Very Vanilla cardstock to the inside of the card.
3) Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the front of the card, spreading the pieces out a bit as shown in the picture.
4) Tie a piece of ribbon or cord in a bow and use a glue dot to adhere it to the middle right side of the DSP.
5) Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the greeting on the front of the card and covering up the center of the bow.
6) Add embellishments such as sequins, jewels or pearls as desired.
