Painted Lavender Painted Flowers Birthday |
P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-7/8" of large lavender stems on light purple background design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stems are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2" x 2-3/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Painted Lavender Set or Unbounded Love Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the Gorgeous Grape rectangle.
Mount the large bunch of 7 lavender flower stems image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical Gorgeous Grape rectangle so it is close to the top edge.
Mount the large lavender flower stem image from the Painted Lavender Set on Block H. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on either side of the previously stamped stems image remembering to re-ink the stamp each time.
Lay the stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some white powder from the Basics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers all of the images. Tap off excess powder. Return excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Put the heat embossed rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface because the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Use the fine top of the Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends to color the stems of the two bunches of flowers on the sides.
Use the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color the flowers of the two bunches of flowers on the sides.
Use the Light and Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends to color the flowers on the center bunch.
Adhere the piece of Perennial Lavender Designer Paper to the bottom of the heat embossed and colored Gorgeous Grape rectangle.
Mount the "happy birthday" sentiment from the Unbounded Love Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the Highland Heather rectangle.
Pick out the slightly larger, open, stitched-edged rectangle with notched corners die from the Unbounded Love Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment label cut out to the center of the layered rectangle so the top of the cut out is even with the top of the designer paper.
Cut a 5" piece of the Iridescent 1/2" Striped Trim and a 5" piece of the silver ribbon included in the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the silver ribbon across the center of the iridescent ribbon. Lay the layered ribbons across the layered rectangle so it covers the seam between the designer paper and the cardstock. Fold the ends of the ribbons over and secure the ribbons in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Gorgeous Grape rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Cut a 4" piece of the Iridescent 1/2" Striped Trim and a 4" piece of the silver ribbon included in the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the silver ribbon across the center of the iridescent ribbon. Slide one end of the layered ribbons under the ribbons already on the card front near the center. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends to color one large and two small pearls on the sheet of Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly around the flowers at the top of the card.
