Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Call Me Clover Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" of green and white tribal stripes pattern from Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper, cut so stripes are horizontal
- 3" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Painted Harvest or Foxy Friends Sets, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the larger, less detailed flower image from the Painted Harvest Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the stamp with Crushed Curry Ink. Rotate it 90 degrees and stamp it again over the top of the previously stamped image.
Mount the slightly smaller, more detailed flower image from the Painted Harvest Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previously stamped flower images. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the stamp with Cajun Craze Ink. Rotate it 90 degrees and stamp it again over the top of the previously stamped images.
Mount the large, solid circle image from the Painted Harvest Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the previously stamped flower images. Shift the stamp slightly and stamp again without re-inking to fill in the entire center of the flowers.
Mount the small animal face with whiskers image from the Foxy Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the flower image.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the lion face by hand.
If desired, rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Crushed Curry Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, use the inky dauber to apply ink to the edges of the lion face to cover any white areas. Get more ink on the dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Unlock the Cat Punch. Slide the piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock into the punch and punch.
Distress the cat punch out by dragging it across the edge of the Bone Folder multiple times in different directions until the cardstock starts to peel up slightly at the edges.
Carefully peel the cat punch out apart so you have two cat shapes which will be slightly fuzzy on one side.
WITHOUT adhering, lay the piece of Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper along the bottom of the Pool Party rectangle. WITHOUT adhering, lay the fuzzy cat punch out with the tail on the right side on top of the Pool Party rectangle so the tail is about 1/2" from the right edge and the cat's bottom and paws overlap the designer paper by about 1/2". WITHOUT adhering, lay the cut out lion face on top of the cat punch out so the top of the mane almost touches the top of the Pool Party rectangle.
Mount the "Wild about You" sentiment from the Animal Outing Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the Pool Party rectangle so it is centered above the designer paper and is just to the left of the lion's head.
When happy with the stamping of the sentiment, adhere the designer paper to the bottom of the stamped Pool Party rectangle.
Adhere the Pool Party rectangle to the Call Me Clover rectangle.
Cut a 6" piece of 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.
Lay the trim across the designer paper/cardstock layers so the trim covers the seam between the layers. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the trim over. Adhere the ends of the trim in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back. Adhere it to the front of the Cajun Craze card.
Adhere the cat body to the front of the card in the same position as before.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the lion's head to the top of the cat punch out like before.
Cut two pieces of 3/16" Braided Linen Trim each about 2-1/2" long.
Tie one piece of the trim in a half-knot in the center. Fray the two ends of the trim by gently pulling the trim apart. Trim the ends with Paper Snips.
Adhere the trim knot to the front of the card using a Mini Glue Dot so it is in line with the trim already on the card at the base of the lion's tail.
Carefully fray the two ends of the other piece of trim by gently pulling the trim apart. Leave a tiny section in the center unfrayed. Fold the frayed trim in half. Lay it on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Cajun Craze Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, use the inky dauber to apply ink to the frayed trim. Get more ink on the dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the frayed and colored trim to the tip of the lion's tail. Trim the frayed trim with Paper Snips.
