On The Ocean Treasure Ship |
M asculine card perfect for a birthday or thank you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crumb Cake Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Suede Cardstockxc
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Mount the ship's wheel image from the On The Ocean Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the Crumb Cake rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges.
Adhere the stamped Crumb Cake rectangle to the center of the large Soft Suede rectangle.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Lay the piece of ribbon across the vertical, matted cardstock rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the bottom. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ends of the ribbon in place with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Soft Suede rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Crumb Cake card.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Very Vanilla strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the small, rounded scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "You are a treasure" sentiment from the On The Ocean Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched vanilla strip so the punched end is on the right side and it is as close as possible to the punched end.
Adhere the sentiment strip punch out to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon and the left, smooth edge of the punched strip is even with the left edge of the Crumb Cake layer.
Pick out the large, solid ship with pointy bowsprit die from the On The Ocean Dies. Put it on top of the smaller, remaining Soft Suede square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Adhere the ship cut out to the front of the card so it just overlaps the top of the sentiment punch out strip and the left edge of the Crumb Cake layer a tiny bit.
Pick out the large, solid, sails with mast and rigging die from the On The Ocean Dies. Put it on top of the large Very Vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Place the sails with mast and rigging cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the bits of the mast you can see at the top of the cut out and down the center of the cut out.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in the bits of rigging you can see between the sails.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored sails with mast and rigging cut out to the front of the card so the bottom of the mast is tucked under the top of the ship cut out near the center and the sails just overlap the left edge of the Crumb Cake layer a tiny bit.
Use the Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color the top of one of the compass icons on the sheet of Enamel Sticker Icons. Allow to dry for a minute or two.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to peel up the colored enamel sticker and adhere it to the front of the card as shown so it covers the left, flat edge of the sentiment punch out strip and overlaps the Soft Suede layer a tiny bit.
Cut a 3" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Tuck one end of the ribbon piece under the ribbon already on the card front so it is centered between the right end of the sentiment strip and the right edge of the card front. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
