Oh Snap Crocodile Kisses Treat Box |
F un Valentine treat box using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 4-1/2" square of light green dots on darker green background design from Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper
- 1/2" x 3-1/4" from Real Red Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1-1/4" from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
Before you fold up the sleeve for the Love You Always Treat Box, you are going to color it using Blending Brushes and stamp on it and adhere the crocodile cut out to it.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Bermuda Bay Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub it in random spots all over the sleeve for the treat box. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Rub a different Blending Brush across the open Pool Party Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, lightly rub it all over the sleeve for the treat box to fill in all white areas and soften the Bermuda Bay areas a bit. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: Put the cardstock on a piece of Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
As you are ready to stamp using the Oh Snap Set, place the designer paper or sleeve for the treat box on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large alligator/crocodile image from the Oh Snap Set on Block F. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Ice Cream Corner Designer Paper square.
Use the Stampin' Chalk Marker to color in the alligator/crocodile's teeth. The white will become more apparent as the ink dries.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the stamped alligator/crocodile.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cut out alligator/crocodile on top of the colored sleeve for the treat box so most of the alligator/crocodile is on the top of the sleeve with the front foot almost touching the bottom edge and the back foot almost touching the left edge. The tail will go over onto the edge of the sleeve.
Mount the small grouping of fish and bubbles image from the Oh Snap Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp the fish on the sleeve of the treat box inside the animal's mouth near the open end of the mouth. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave the stamp on the block.
Carefully re-ink only two of the small fish on the image on Block A by pressing that portion of the stamp only to the edge of the open Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp the fish on the sleeve of the treat box inside the animal's mouth just below the previously stamped fish.
Now, use Stampin' Seal and Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the crocodile/alligator cut out in place to the top of the sleeve for the treat box. Wrap the tail around to adhere it in place to the side of the box sleeve.
Fold together a Love You Always Treat Box using a Bone Folder.
Fill the box with treats and close it up.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Oh Snap Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Real Red strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notched top) as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other end of the strip.
Use Paper Snips to cut the punched strip in half and trim them down in size a bit by cutting some of the flat edges off.
Adhere the cut down, notched red strips to the back of the sentiment rectangle using Stampin' Dimensionals so the notched ends just stick out on either side of the sentiment rectangle.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and adhere the sentiment with punched strips attached to the top of the box sleeve so it overlaps the upper part of the alligator/crocodile's body as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 red and 1 white hearts from a sheet of Resin Hearts making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the top of the box sleeve over the top of the alligator/crocodile cut out as shown.
