M asculine birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of purple stripes design from Sweet Talk 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-3/4" x 4-1/8" from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-5/8" square of purple stripes design from Sweet Talk 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 5/8" x 1-5/8" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the large rectangle of striped Sweet Talk Designer Paper to the center of the Highland Heather rectangle and then to the front of the Gorgeous Grape card.
Mount the robot with flower image from the Nuts & Bolts Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" white rectangle.
Mount the shadow image from the Nuts & Bolts Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it just below the stamped robot on the white rectangle.
Put the stamped robot rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color in the robot's tube neck, arms, and legs and the flower. Also use the fine tip to color in the rivets.
Use the Light Highland Heather Stampin' Blends to color in the robot's hands, feet, ears, and hat.
Use the Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the robot.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Mount the "HB2U" sentiment from the Nuts & Bolts Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining, vertical white rectangle.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the stamped and colored robot rectangle, "HB2U" rectangle, and square of striped Sweet Talk Designer Paper on the Gorgeous Grape rectangle to figure out spacing. When happy with the spacing, adhere the pieces in place.
Adhere the matted robot, sentiment, and designer paper square rectangle to the front of the card in the center.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Basic Gray dot from the sheet of Classic Matte Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the flower.
