Nothing's Better Than Chocolate Strips |
F un card perfect for anyone for a special occasion using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Early Espresso Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Early Espresso Cardstock
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Early Espresso Cardstock
- 2-5/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Cut the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" pieces of Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Cinnamon Cider Cardstocks into angled strips using the Paper Trimmer. The strips will be 4-1/4" long and can be any width you want them to be. Just keep one side of the strips straight and angle the other side. Alternate which way they are angling. Cut until you have at least 3 angled strips of each color of cardstock.
Place the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Early Espresso Cardstock on the Silicone Craft Sheet. Using the silicone craft sheet will make it easy to pull up the finished piece of layered cardstock without having to worry about adhesive sticking to your work surface.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay an angled strip of your color choice on the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Early Espresso Cardstock so a tiny bit of Early Espresso shows along the right or left edge of one straight edge of the color strip. Lay the other strips on the Early Espresso rectangle alternating the colors and the straight edges and leave a small amount of Early Espresso showing through between each strip.
When you are happy with the pattern of strips, adhere them in place one at a time using Stampin' Seal and remembering to leave a tiny bit of Early Espresso showing through between each strip.
Peel the layered Early Espresso/strips piece up from the Silicone Craft Sheet. Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess strips hanging over the edges of the Early Espresso rectangle.
Use the Paper Trimmer to trim the strips rectangle down to 3-3/4" x 5".
Adhere the trimmed down strips rectangle to the front of the Early Espresso card.
Peel the protective backing off of the 2-5/8" Adhesive Sheets square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to one side of the Early Espresso square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the "love you more than" die from the Love You More Than Dies. Put it on top of the Early Espresso square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the Early Espresso (dark brown) side is facing up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backings for the Adhesive Sheet stay in place for now.
Peel the protective backing off of the remaining Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the Soft Suede rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the "chocolate" die from the Love You More Than Dies. Put it on top of the Soft Suede rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the Soft Suede (medium brown) side is facing up. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Make sure the protective backings for the Adhesive Sheet stay in place for now.
As you are ready to stamp using the Nothing's Better Than Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the outline of the three pieces of chocolate image from the Nothing's Better Than Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small vanilla rectangle.
Mount the solid interiors of the three pieces of chocolate image from the Nothing's Better Than Set on Block B. Carefully ink up ONLY the angled piece of chocolate on the side by pressing it to the edge of the open Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad. Then, ink up the remaining two chocolates ONLY by carefully pressing them to the edge of the open Soft Suede Ink Pad. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the inks and stamp inside the previously stamped outline chocolates image.
Pick out the matching set of three chocolates die from the Love You More Than Dies. Put it on top of the stamped chocolates image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so it is centered over the chocolates. Run through the tool.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cut out words and the chocolates cut out on the card front to figure out spacing.
When happy with the spacing and placement, carefully adhere the words one at a time by peeling off the protective backing from the Adhesive Sheet on the back of each piece. Use Stampin' Seal to adhere the chocolates cut out in place.
Pick out a corner from the Antiqued Corners & Slides. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the corner in place to the upper right corner of the strips rectangle.
