Nine Lives Sail Away Cat |
F un card for a cat lover using Stampin' Up! products.
|
|
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of light and dark blue stripes on gray background design from Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, cut so lines are horizontal on the vertical paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Nine Lives Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the small outline mouse image from the Nine Lives Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sahara Sand Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the vertical Come Sail Away Designer Paper rectangle so it is just above a line.
Mount the solid mouse body image from the Nine Lives Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sahara Sand Ink Pad and stamp it inside the outlined body of the mouse.
Adhere the stamped Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper rectangle to the front of the Balmy Blue Card.
Mount the cat with a face image from the Nine Lives Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Sahara Sand Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the strip of Sahara Sand Cardstock.
Unlock the Cat Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped cat image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Mount the striped or mottled cat image from the Nine Lives Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Sahara Sand Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped cat image on the cat punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the patterned (striped or mottled) cat image inside the cat with face image if I stamp the cat with face image first and then punch it out before stamping on the pattern.
Unlock the 2-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide in the strip of Balmy Blue Cardstock. Punch.
Mount the "You're the Cat's Meow" sentiment from the Nine Lives Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the punched out Balmy Blue circle so it is centered top to bottom.
Mount the tiny fish image from the Nine Lives Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it just below the sentiment on the circle so the fish is pointing towards the left edge and is even with the left edge of the sentiment.
Adhere the cat punch out to the left side of the sentiment circle punch out.
Cut a 12" piece of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine.
Lay the twine in large loops on the top of the card front. Adhere in place with small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive where they will be hidden by the cat and circle punch outs. Leave the protective backings in place.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the cat and circle punch outs to adhere them to the front of the card over the center of the looped twine.
