Needle & Thread Framed and Stitched Wishes |
P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 3" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
Pick out the two stitched rectangle framelits from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits that cut out a 1-3/4" x 3-1/8" rectangle and a 1-7/16" x 2-3/4" rectangle. Place the Petal Pink rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched rectangle framelits inside each other in the center. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Remove the pieces. Keep the large rectangle with a rectangle cut in the center and the thin, outline rectangle. You can throw away the small, solid, stitched rectangle or keep it for use on another project.
Insert the large Petal Pink rectangle with the rectangle cut out of the center into the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
As you are ready to stamp using the More Than Words and Needle & Thread Sets, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the bottom half of the word "wishes" image from the More Than Words Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it just below center of the 3" x 3-1/2" white rectangle.
Mount the full word "wishes" image from the More Than Words Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped half word "wishes."
Mount the "birthday" sentiment from the More Than Words Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the word "wishes" so it overlaps a bit.
Use a thin line of glue from the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the thin, outlined rectangle cut out to the stamped white cardstock so the sentiment is centered in the opening.
Put some Stampin' Dimensionals around the outside of the rectangle frame onto the white cardstock. Remove the protective backings and adhere the dry embossed Petal Pink rectangle with the rectangle cut out of the center to the framed sentiment piece so that the frame is centered in the cut out in the large Petal Pink rectangle.
Put some SNAIL on the back of the white piece and some more Stampin' Dimensionals around the edges and adhere it all to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the large embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the white strip.
Tip: If your ink pad is really juicy, you might get a better image if you use a Sponge Dauber to pick up ink from the pad and then pounce it onto the stamp to ink it up.
Pick out the large, open, flower framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped large flower on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the small embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Petal Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the white strip.
Tip: If your ink pad is really juicy, you might get a better image if you use a Sponge Dauber to pick up ink from the pad and then pounce it onto the stamp to ink it up.
Pick out the small, open, flower framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the stamped small flower on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the flower framelit on top so it is centered over the flower image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the small flower cut out to the center of the big flower cut out.
Pick out the 3-leaf sprig framelit from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits. Place the Pear Pizzazz square on the Cutting Pad on the Precision Base Plate on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the 3-leaf sprig framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool and Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Adhere the leaf cut out to the back of the flowers so it sticks out to the side.
Use SNAIL and a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the flower cut out with leaf attached to the front of the card so it covers the lower left corner of the rectangle opening in the center of the Petal Pink rectangle and the leaf sticks out to the right.
Cut a 2" piece of Old Olive Linen Thread.
Pick out a tiny Petal Pink button from the Needlepoint Nook Mini Buttons.
Thread the ends of the linen thread through the holes in the button from the back side. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim and fray the ends.
Tip: Use a floss or needle threader to help you get the thread through the holes in the button.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the button with thread tied on to the card front so it is in the center of the flower.
Carefully punch out a smaller, detailed butterfly element from a sheet of Butterfly Elements.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color one side of the butterfly element.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the colored butterfly element to the card front so it overlaps the upper right corner of the rectangle cut out in the Petal Pink rectangle.
