Nature's Prints Center Easel Hello |
F un fold center easel card made with Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Gray Granite Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 4" of mottled gray pattern from Sun Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2 pieces each 2" x 2-1/4" of dark blue with lighter blue and gray splotches pattern from Sun Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" from Gray Granite Cardstock
- 1-5/8" x 2-5/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Open the Gray Granite card and place it on your Paper Trimmer so a 5-1/2" edge is along the top of the trimmer. Slide the card over so the long, left edge is on the 4" mark. Cut down to the score line. Slide the card over some more so the long, left edge is on the 1-1/2" mark. Cut down to the score line.
Rotate the open card so an 8-1/2" edge is along the top of the Paper Trimmer and the three flaps are on the left side. Slide the card over so the short, left edge of the three flaps is on the 2-1/8" mark. Use the scoring tool on the Paper Trimmer to score only the center panel.
Mount the splatters image from the Nature's Prints Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Gray Granite Ink Pad. Stamp it several times on the bottom of the vertical 3-1/2" x 4" white rectangle. Let some of the splatters go off the left and right edges and let some of them overlap. Stamp some of the splatters after stamping off on Grid Paper.
Cut a 4" piece of the Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the stamped, vertical white rectangle so it is about 1" from the bottom edge. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back of the rectangle using strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere it to the inside of the card so it is centered side to side and about 1/8" of Gray Granite shows on the top and bottom edges.
Insert both gray 1-1/4" x 4" rectangles of Sun Prints Designer Paper into the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure they are lined up straight. Make sure they do NOT overlap. Place the folder with the designer paper pieces inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed designer paper strips to the centers of the two side panels.
Adhere the two side panels to the inside of the card. Only the center panel should now open.
Mount the "Hello There" sentiment from the Nature's Prints Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 1-11/16" circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Put it on top of the sentiment square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Starry Sky Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edge of the sentiment circle cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle cut out to the center of the white panel on the inside of the card so it is centered over the ribbon. This will keep the folded center panel easel propped up.
Adhere the 2 dark blue with splotches Sun Prints Designer Paper rectangles to the top and bottom of the center easel panel on the card front. One 2-1/4" edge of each should be even with the score line in the center of the panel and about 1/8" of Gray Granite should show on the left, bottom, top, and right edges.
Mount the large leaf sprig image from the Nature's Prints Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining large white rectangle.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Gray Granite Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub some of the ink off onto Grid Paper. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over the stamped leaf sprig image to turn the background a light gray . Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Make sure you have a piece of Grid Paper under the cardstock to protect your work surface.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the matching large leaf sprig die from the Natural Prints Dies. Put it on top of the stamped and blended leaf sprig image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Put Stampin' Seal on the bottom ONLY of the back of the leaf sprig cut out. Adhere it to the bottom panel of the center easel panel so it is centered side to side. Make sure NO adhesive goes over to the top panel or the card won't work as an easel card.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the Gray Granite rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out one of the longer, skinny leaf stem dies and one of the short leaf stem dies from the Natural Prints Dies. Put them on top of the Gray Granite rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Gray Granite side is face up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the long, skinny leaf sprig cut out. Adhere it to the top center panel so the top of the sprig is in the upper left corner of the designer paper rectangle on the top panel and the bottom of the stem is tucked behind the main leaf sprig cut out.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the small leaf sprig cut out. Adhere it to the top center panel so the bottom of the stem is tucked behind the main leaf sprig cut out and the top is near the upper right corner of the designer paper on the top panel.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 2 large opal rounds from the sheet of Opal Rounds making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the top center panel of the card as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Gray Granite 1/4" Shimmer Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the bottom center panel so it is centered over the stem at the bottom of the large leaf sprig cut out.
