Magnolia Thank you |
t
his beauty is so easy to stamp and color that I can't stop playing with it! If you enjoy coloring, you will love it..especially with colored pencils or the Stampin'blends markers! But don't worry, if you aren't "into coloring" you only have to color the leaves (which go pretty fast ) and leave the flower white or vanilla. I used my clear glitter pen to blend the green leaves and to go over the white/vanilla area of the flowers adding a little sparkle to the card.
.
Don't forget to stamp a sentiment inside..I used the "not only for you" thank you sentiment included in the set stamped in the same green that I used to color the leaves but there's still plenty of room for a short hand written note if you want to do more than just sign your name.

start with the slightly smaller Very Vanilla cardstock piece for outside panel, use Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the large floral image onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I chose vanilla and didn't color it in because the Magnolia trees in my back yard have off white/ cream colored petals when they bloom, but I have seen many card samples done with co!ors which look great too.
I colored the center of the bloom with Daffodil Delight then used the Clear Wink of Stella to go over the cream colored flower petals to brighten them up.
Next color the leaves with your choice of green... Old Olive or Garden Green both work nicely. I used Old Olive for the base then went over the veins with Garden Green. and applied a light coat of Clear wink of Stella over the leaves to blend the colors.
Stamp desired sentiment in the corner of cardfront (I used "thank you") then run the stamped panel thru the Mosaic embossing folder using the Big Shot. NOTE: This new dynamic embossing folder is thicker than most so there is now a new embossing plate #149658 available to use with the thick folders, until you get it be sure to use this sandwich: 1)green and white Big Shot embossing platform
2) extra thick embosing folder with cardstock
3) gray silicone mat
4) clear acrylic embossing plate on top
If your Big Shot is too tight do not force it, adjust the sandwich, likewise if it's too loose then adjust accordingly with another shim until it works.
5) Attach stamped and embossed vanila panel to the Grapefruit Grove panel, then adhere Grapefruit panel to the folded grey panel card.
Finally attach the 2nd vanilla panel (blank) to the inside of card to use for writing a note or you use the included sentiment.
Note: this is a great project whether you enjoy coloring in petals or prefer to leave them creamy white.
