Lighting The Way Glow In The Dark Bugs

Supplies needed:

Project Recipe:

1. Cut cardstock, vellum, and glow-in-the-dark specialty paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
   - card from Shaded Spruce Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
   - 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
   - 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
   - 2" square from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
   - 1-1/2" square from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
   - 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Vellum Cardstock
   - 1-1/2" x 3" from Glow-In-The-Dark 6" x 6" Specialty Paper

2. Pick out the lantern die from the Lighting The Way Dies. Put it on top of the Basic Black rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.

3. Pick out the large, detailed, partial firefly die from the Lighting The Way Dies. Put it on top of the Shaded Spruce square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.

4. Pick out the set of two wings die from the Lighting The Way Dies. Put it on top of one side of the vellum strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat on the other side of the vellum strip so you have two sets of wings.

5. Pick out two of the solid, detailed, small firefly dies and the skinny firefly body die from the Lighting The Way Dies plus the smallest circle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put them all on top of the Glow-In-The-Dark Specialty Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.

6. Put very thin lines of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen behind the crossed wires in the center of the lantern image. Adhere the cut out glow-in-the-dark rough circle to the back of the lantern so the bottom edge is tucked under the top of the lantern pan and it is centered behind the crossed wires.

7. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the Glow-In-The-Dark Specialty Paper body cut out to the back of the Shaded Spruce firefly cut out so about 1/4" of the Glow-In-The-Dark body sticks out at the bottom.

8. Use a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one set of wings to the top of the firefly cut out so the wings are pointing up and are centered over the green wings of the cut out. Use another dot of glue to adhere the other set of wings to the top of the firefly cut out so the wings are pointing down and the center is centered over the center of the first set of wings.

9. As you are ready to stamp using the Lighting The Way Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.

10. Mount the "follow your dreams" sentiment from the Lighting The Way Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Soft Sea Foam square.

11. Pick out the second smallest circle die from the Deckled Circles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.

12. Use the side of the brush tip of the Shaded Spruce Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edge of the sentiment circle cut out.

13. WITHOUT ADHERING, lay all the cut out pieces on the vertical Soft Sea Foam rectangle as shown to figure out spacing and placement.

14. Mount the swirl of tiny fireflies and dots image from the Lighting The Way Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it on the vertical Soft Sea Foam rectangle as shown so it is just to the right of the lantern and just above the sentiment circle cut out.

15. Adhere the stamped Soft Sea Foam rectangle to the front of the Shaded Spruce card.

16. Now, adhere the lantern and small firefly cut outs in place using Stampin' Seal and/or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

17. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle cut out in place.

18. Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the completed firefly cut out in place.

19. Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the White 1/2" Iridescent Ribbon.

20. Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon and trim the ends.

21. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon in place as shown on the lower left side of the sentiment circle cut out.

22. Use utility scissors to cut the arms and most of the tail off of one of the ghosts from the Glow-In-The-Dark Bats & Ghosts while it is on the protective sheet.

23. Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the trimmed down glow-in-the-dark ghost from the sheet of Glow-In-The-Dark Bats & Ghosts making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the top of the firefly so it is centered over the wings where they crisscross the body.

24. Turn off the lights and watch your card glow!
