Layers Of Beauty Purple Rose Tag |
P retty birthday card using masks and Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of mottled dark purple design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2"x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Layers Of Beauty Set or Cheerful Daisies Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the large group of roses, small flowers, and leaves image from the Layers Of Beauty Set on Block F. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the large, horizontal white rectangle.
Place the stamped white square on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Pick out the more open roses and small flowers mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the flowers are centered over the stamped flower images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Fresh Freesia Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the flowers mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Pick out the slightly more detailed roses and small flowers mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the flowers are centered over the previously masked flower images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.

Rub the Sponge Dauber across the open Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the flowers mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the more open leaves and stems mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the leaves are centered over the stamped leaf images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.

Adhere the stamped and masked white rectangle to the center of the Perennial Lavender Designer Paper rectangle.
Mount the "wishing you the brightest birthday" sentiment from the Cheerful Daisies Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining white rectangle.
Pick out the squared off tag die from the Greetings Of The Season Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment and the ribbon hole is on the left side. Run through the machine.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Highland Heather Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the tag cut out.
Cut a 6" piece of the Iridescent 1/2" Striped Trim.
Feed one end of the ribbon through the hole in the sentiment tag from behind the tag.
Lay the ribbon with tag on it across the center of the matted, stamped, and masked rectangle. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to make the tag lay flat as shown.
Cut a 4" piece of the Iridescent 1/2" Striped Trim.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front next to the hole in the tag. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 2 large Highland Heather or Gorgeous Grape gems from a sheet of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front around the image.
