Layers Of Beauty Circle Framed Purple Rose |
P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products and masks.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Fresh Freesia Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2"
- 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" of beige plaid design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/4" x 4-1/4" of mottled dark green design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" square from Gorgeous Grape Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" of mottled dark green design from Perennial Lavender 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
As you are ready to stamp using the Layers Of Beauty Set or Cheerful Daisies Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "wishing you the brightest birthday" sentiment from the Cheerful Daisies Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it in the bottom left corner of the vertical card front as close to the edges as possible.
Pick out the long skinny die with the row of smaller flowers on it from the Flowers Of Beauty Dies. Put it CUTTING SIDE UP on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you can see where the flowers are on the die. Lay the 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" plaid Perennial Lavender Designer Paper rectangle on top of the die so you'll cut out a row of little flowers in a line across the top of the horizontal rectangle about 3/8" from the top (along one of the 4-1/4" edges). Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Note: You are using the plaid designer paper rectangle with a line of little flowers cut across it for this project. Keep the little flower cut outs for use on another project or recycle them.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin' Seal to adhere the cut designer paper to the front of the stamped card front so it is just above the stamped sentiment and the left and right edges are even.
Adhere the large strip of mottled dark green Perennial Lavender Designer Paper to the front of the card so it overlaps the top of the plaid designer rectangle just above the line of flowers cut outs, the left and right edges are even, and there is a tiny bit of Fresh Freesia showing along the top.
Pick out the circle die from the Deckled Circles Dies that cuts out a circle that is 2-1/8" in diameter. Put it on top of the Gorgeous Grape square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the circle cut out to the front of the card so the bottom just overlaps the bottom edge of the plaid designer paper as shown and it is about 3/8" from the right edge.
Mount the large group of roses, small flowers, and leaves image from the Layers Of Beauty Set on Block F. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad so you get the roses in the center of the image. Stamp it on the white square.
Place the stamped white square on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Pick out the more open roses and small flowers mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the flowers are centered over the stamped flower images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Fresh Freesia Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the flowers mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Pick out the slightly more detailed roses and small flowers mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the flowers are centered over the previously masked flower images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub the Sponge Dauber across the open Highland Heather Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the flowers mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Pick out the very detailed roses and small flowers mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the flowers are centered over the previously masked flower images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub the Sponge Dauber across the open Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the flowers mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the more open leaves and stems mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the leaves are centered over the stamped leaf images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a different Sponge Dauber across the open Shaded Spruce Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the leaves and stems mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Pick out the more detailed leaves and stems mask from the Layered Beauty Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the leaves are centered over the previously masked leaf images.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub the Sponge Dauber across the open Pretty Peacock Ink Pad to get it inky. Pounce the inky dauber all over the openings in the leaves and stems mask. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the matching, open, large single rose with leaves die from the Layers Of Beauty Dies. Put it on top of the stamped and colored rose image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the rose cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is roughly centered over the purple circle cut out.
Pick out the small, feathery leaves die from the Layers Of Beauty Dies. Put it on top of the small rectangle of mottled green Perennial Lavender Designer Paper on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use a Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the feathery leaves cut out to the front of the card as shown so the stem is tucked behind the rose and the leaves overlap the leaves of the rose cut out a bit.
Cut a 4" piece of the Iridescent 1/2" Striped Trim.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle along the bottom of the rose cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 7 small Highland Heather or Gorgeous Grape gems from a sheet of Purple Fine Shimmer Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the small flowers cut into the designer paper.
