Jolly Holly Popping Holly Leaves |
S imple Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3" from Garden Green Cardstock
Pick out the connected holly leaves die from the Jolly Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it inside the Embossing Folder from the Jolly Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder so it fits into the grooves around the corresponding holly leaves cut into the inside of the top flap (the one with the line and logo printed on it) of the Embossing Folder. Place the large Garden Green rectangle into the layered die/embossing folder so it is centered over the die. Close the folder and put it on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. This will partially cut out some of the holly leaves and emboss them at the same time.
Note: The holly leaves are NOT completely cut out. Make sure you keep all the little pieces of leaves.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the edges of the partially cut out leaves and edges of the rectangle to adhere the rectangle to the front of the Garden Green card. Make sure one large bunch of 4 leaves is in the lower left corner of the card front and one bunch of 3 leaves is in the upper right corner.
Pick out the smaller rectangle die from the Jolly Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder dies. Place it in the center of the vanilla rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Jolly Holly Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "holly & jolly" sentiment from the Jolly Holly Set on Block B. Carefully ink up the word "holly" and part of the "and" sign by pressing the stamp to the edge of the open Garden Green Ink Pad. Carefully ink up the word "jolly" and part of the "and" sign by pressing the stamp to the edge of the open Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the vertical rectangle cut out. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Carefully ink up the word "holly" and part of the "and" sign by pressing the stamp to the edge of the open Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment on the vertical rectangle cut out just above the first word "holly." Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Carefully ink up the word "jolly" and part of the "and" sign by pressing the stamp to the edge of the open Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment on the vertical rectangle cut out just below the first word "jolly." Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Use the fine tip of the Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers as needed to draw in any parts of the words and "and" signs as needed.
Adhere the sentiment stamped rectangle to the front of the card as shown so the upper right and lower left corners are tucked under some of the popped up holly leaves.
Mount the small set of two holly leaves and three berries image from the Jolly Holly Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it twice on the remaining strip of Garden Green leaving room to cut the images out and making sure to re-ink the stamp.
Pick out the matching set of holly leaves and berries die from the Jolly Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder dies. Place it over one of the stamped holly leaves and berries images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other image.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the two holly leaves and berries cut outs to the front of the card as shown so they overlap the upper left and bottom right corners of the sentiment rectangle cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 groups of 3 Cherry Cobbler berries from a sheet of Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-Backed Berries making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere the berry groups to the front of the card as shown so they are centered over the stamped berries on the small holly leaves and berries cut outs.
