Jar Of Flowers Sunflower Shaker Card |
F un shaker card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Bumblebee Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 2" x 3-3/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Place the Buffalo Check background stamp rubber side up on Grid Paper on your work surface. Ink up the stamp by pouncing or rubbing the So Saffron Ink Pad all over it. Leave the inked up stamp face up on your work surface. Carefully place the So Saffron rectangle on the stamp. Fold the Grid Paper up and over the top of everything and rub firmly all over. Using the Grid Paper protects your hands from getting ink on them.
Tip: I just clean my background stamps by running them under water until the water runs clear. Then, I let them air dry.
Unlock the Jar Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the Buffalo Check stamped So Saffron rectangle into the punch vertically as far as it will go so the left edge of the cardstock is barely inside the left edge of the punch. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Tip: Save the punched out So Saffron jar image to use on another project if you wish.
As you are ready to stamp using the Jar Of Flowers Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large jar image stamp from the Jar Of Flowers Set on Block C so the detailed side of the stamp is the one you will be stamping. Ink up the stamp with the Just Jade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical 2" x 3-3/4" strip of vanilla cardstock.
Mount the bundle of stems image from the Jar Of Flowers Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Just Jade Ink Pad. Stamp the stems inside the previously stamped jar image so the tops of the stems are just above the top edge of the jar image.
Mount the small jar image stamp from the Jar Of Flowers Set on Block B so the smooth, solid side of the stamp is the one you will be stamping. Ink up the stamp with the Just Jade Ink Pad. Stamp off twice onto Grid Paper. Then, stamp it in the bottom of the previously stamped jar image..
Hold the unlocked Jar Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped jar image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Squeeze the lid of the Just Jade Ink Pad to get ink in the lid. Use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lid and lightly color in the centers of the stems on the jar punch out. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Scribble on Grid Paper when you are done until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the Buffalo Check stamped and punched So Saffron rectangle on the front of the Bumblebee card. Adhere the stamped and colored jar punch out to the front of the Bumblebee card by placing it inside the punched out area of the So Saffron rectangle. Remove the So Saffron rectangle.
Peel the protective backing off the FRONT of the rim around a Mason Jar Shaker Dome. Place the dome on top of your work surface. Adhere the Buffalo Check stamped and punched So Saffron rectangle over the top of the shaker dome.
Open the card and lay it flat on your work surface.
Put a pinch of the Flowers For Every Season Gems on top of the jar punch out on the card front.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive all around the edges of the back of the So Saffron rectangle with shaker dome attached. Peel the protective backing off the BACK of the rim of the Mason Jar Shaker Dome and peel the protective backings off the Tear & Tape strips. Adhere the So Saffron/shaker dome rectangle to the front of the card so the shaker dome is centered over the jar punch out. Press firmly along the edges of the jar to make a tight seal so none of the gems can escape.
Mount the bouquet of sunflowers image from the Jar Of Flowers Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Saddle Brown StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla square.
One at a time, squeeze the lids of the ink pads to get ink in the lids. One at a time, use the Blender Pen to pick up ink from the pad lids and color in the bouquet image. Don't worry about coloring in the fine leaves and buds, you'll be cutting them off. Remember to stroke in one direction only or the cardstock will tear and pill up. Remember to scribble on Grid Paper in between colors until no more color is coming off the Blender Pen.
Use the following colors:
Bumblebee – for the shading on the sunflower petals
So Saffron - for the rest of the sunflower petals and the background spaces between flowers and leaves
Cinnamon Cider - for the sunflower centers and large bud in the center of the leaves
Just Jade - for the leaves
Misty Moonlight - for the flower on the left side of the base of the bouquet
Use Paper Snips to carefully cut out the colored bouquet. Cut off the fine leaves and buds.
Adhere the cut out bouquet to the front of the card at the top of the jar.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the vanilla strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter label top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount one of the shorter sentiments from the Lovely You Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Bumblebee Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched label so the punched in is on the right side and the end of the sentiment is as close as possible to the punched right edge..
Use Paper Snips to cut off excess cardstock on the left side of the stamped sentiment in a straight line.
Adhere the sentiment label punch out to the front of the card at a downward angle so the flat left side of the punch out is as close as possible to the top of the jar and the bottom of the bouquet.
Cut a 9" piece of the Just Jade 3/8" Gingham Ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the front of the card at a slight angle so it covers the flat left edge of the sentiment label punch out.
