Inspiring Iris Carnation Thanks |
P retty thank you card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Terracotta Tile Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-7/8" of watercolor rectangles of purples and oranges on white background design from Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper, cut so the rectangles are horizontal on the horizontal paper
- 2" x 3-1/2" from Terracotta Tile Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Inspiring Iris Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the outline carnation image from the Inspiring Iris Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it vertically in the center of the vertical white rectangle so the top of the image is about 5/8" from the top of the white rectangle.
Mount the solid leaves, stem, and flower bracket image that matches the previously stamped outline image from the Inspiring Iris Set. Mount it on Block G. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped outline image.
Mount the solid carnation petals image from the Inspiring Iris Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Lay the inked up stamp inky side up on your work surface. Thump the brush tip of the Blackberry Bliss Marker and the brush tip of the Terracotta Tile Marker around on the inked up stamp multiple times. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp inside the carnation petals portion of the previously stamped outline image. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the solid carnation petals image on Block A with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previously stamped carnation petals image a little off set to add fullness.
Mount the "thanks" sentiment from the Inspiring Iris Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it near the center of on end of the thin Terracotta Tile strip.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area along the top edge. Punch. Don't worry if the bottom of the circle doesn't get punched out.
Adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the stamped white layer so it is centered side to side and is just below the upper leaves of the flower image.
Adhere the piece of Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the stamped white layer so it covers the sentiment circle punch out just below half way.
Adhere the stamped and layered white rectangle to the large Terracotta Tile rectangle.
Cut a 5" piece of the Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the designer paper/stamped white cardstock so it covers the top seam between the two. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Terracotta Tile rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Blackberry Bliss card.
Cut a 4" piece of Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon piece under the ribbon already on the card front so it is centered under the sentiment. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends to color over one of the large, lighter colored Butterfly Gems while it is on the sheet.
Or, just use a large Purple Posy Butterfly Gem if you prefer without coloring it.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the Butterfly Gem from the sheet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card just to the right and slightly above the carnation.
