Hey Birthday Chick Easter Chick Eggs |
P layful Easter card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Seaside Spray Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 3 pieces each 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" of watercolor wash fading from blue to pink to yellow design from Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper, make sure one piece is mostly blue, another is mostly pink, and the final one is mostly yellow
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- strip of Seaside Spray Cardstock at least 3-1/4" long
Insert the large So Saffron rectangle into the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the flap of the folder to help you line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed So Saffron rectangle to the front of the Seaside Spray card.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 1-7/8" x 2-3/4. Put it on top of one of the designer paper rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other two pieces of designer paper. Leave the die out.
Adhere the designer paper oval cut outs to the front of the card so the blue and pink one overlap each other slightly on the left side and the yellow one is on the right side. Angle the ovals slightly differently.
Mount the chick hatching out of an egg image from the Hey Birthday Chick Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it near the top of the vertical vanilla rectangle so it is centered side to side. Make sure you leave room to cut it out.
Place the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 1-7/8" x 2-3/4" on top of the stamped chick image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is near the top and centered side to side. Run through the machine.
Put the chick hatching out of an egg oval cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the chick and his legs.
Use the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to color in the top and bottom stripes on the chick's party hat.
Use the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to color in the chick's beak.
Use the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends to color in the center stripe and the pompom on the party hat.
Use the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to lightly outline the areas on the left and under the right wing of the chick and to create a shadow under the chick.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove any unwanted color and to soften the shadows created with the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.
Adhere the colored chick vanilla oval cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the right side of the pink oval and the left side of the yellow oval.
Mount the "Easter Blessings" sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Melon Mambo Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Seaside Spray strip near one end. Leave room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the front of the card so it is centered across the vanilla oval just below the stamped chick hatching from an egg image.
Cut a 4" piece of the Seaside Spray 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front at a slight angle so it overlaps the bottom right side of the sentiment punch out on the bottom right side of the vanilla oval cut out.
