T
his is another card highlighting the Country Home DSP and Falling Leaves bundle from the 2018 Holiday Catalog.
Stampin' Up! has a tagline called "Copy And Share Everything" or CASE. This card was CASEd from Amy Koenders out of Georgia.
I had already used up the wood background paper in the Country Lane DSP, so this is a substitution. There is also a nice wood print in the Nature's Poem DSP if you don't have the wood DSP handy.

Cut all of your paper as follows:
Score your 8.5x11" Blackberry Bliss paper at 5.5" on the long side. Then flip it and cut at 4.25" on the short side to make the card bases.
The Crushed Curry background is 4x5.25". Take another sheet and cut it at 4.25" on the short side to cut the lacy border out.
The Whisper White inside is 3.75x5. Cut another sheet in half at 4.25" on the short side for the front sentiments. (I stamped these with the Stamparatus, one inch apart by moving the plate down the hinges, then cut them out after stamping.
The wood DSP should be cut to 3.75"x5".
The Blackberry Bliss DSP (I used some dots and some tin tile) should be cut to 3.75"x3". To cut the angle, I flipped it over on the back so one corner touched the 1" mark on my trimmer, and the other corner landed exactly where the cutting blade would cross. (See picture.)
Stamp the inside sentiment in Shaded Spruce.
The outside sentiment, I stamped down a sheet of whisper white paper using the hinge and stepping it down one notch between each, then trimming them with my Stampin' Trimmer. The angle cuts I just did with snips.
I used Soft Suede to stamp some leaves on to the wood DSP to add a bit more depth.
Use your Big Shot to cut the crushed curry "lace" peice that goes behind the angled cut on the Blackberry Bliss DSP.
My sandwich for this was:
Magnetic Plate
Precision Cutting Plate
Paper
Die (cutting side down)
Clear Cutting Plate
NOTE: I tried with the standard platform and thin die adapter and found it was very tight on my Big Shot and I was bowing my die. If you use the magnetic and precision plates together, be careful not to pinch your fingers!
For the copper leaf, I first cut the outline with the magnetic cutting plate and two standard cutting pads. If you have multiple cutting pads, find your smoothest one, as any marks on your top cutting pad will transfer onto the copper paper. Embossing helps, but they will still show.
Next, emboss the leaf with the embossing die from the same set. My sandwich for this was:
Standard Big Shot Platform
White plate that came with the embossing mats
Blue embossing mat
Copper Leaf
Embossing die (embossing side down)
Clear cutting plate
Note: SU recommends putting the die down first, embossing side up, but I just can't keep it from shifting and with the foil paper, any washi tape leaves a line at it's edge on my finished leaf.
Use your bone folder to curl the edges of the leaf to give it a bit of dimension.
Assemble the card using Snail on all of the card stock peices and dimensionals for the leaf and sentiment.
If you have a Soft Suede Stampin' Write marker or Stampin' Blend, it's a cute touch to add some dots behind the leaf to show a trail behind it as it "falls".
Add some envelope flair, and you're all set!
