Happy Birthday To You Soft and Lacy Cake |
S oft and pretty card perfect for lots of occasions made with Stampin' Up! products.
|
Cut cardstock and Foil Sheet pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Purple Posy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 3-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Silver Foil Sheets
Lightly spritz the large (4" x 5-1/4") white rectangle with water and insert into the Lace 3D Embossing Folder so the lines of lace run horizontally across the vertical rectangle. Use the line drawn on the front of the folder to help line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine. Set aside to dry.
Mount the cake with flowers image from the Happy Birthday To You Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining small white rectangle.
Pick out the cake with flowers die from the Birthday Dies. Put it on top of the cake image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the designer paper that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the cake with flowers cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark and Light Purple Posy Markers and the Dark and Light Highland Heather Markers to color in the flowers.
Use the Dark and Light Soft Sea Foam Markers to color in the leaves and brackets on the berries.
Use the Dark Highland Heather Marker to color in the berries.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any excess color as needed..
Use Paper Snips to cut off the cake stand at the bottom of the stamped cake with flowers image.
Pick out the cake stand die from the Birthday Dies. Put it on top of the Silver Foil Sheet rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Note: The lines in the foot and leg of the cake stand do NOT cut out. They just emboss.
Tear a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive about 2" long from the roll. Use a pair of scissors to cut the Tear & Tape strip in half long ways. Save one skinny strip and throw away the other.
Put the skinny strip of Tear & Tape on the back of the cake stand cut out along the top edge. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the cake stand to the bottom of the colored cake with flowers cut out.
If the dry embossed white rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if needed.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Purple Posy card.
Tip: I like to use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere cardstock that was spritzed with water and then dry embossed. It helps hold it flat on the card front.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cake on the stand to the front of the card in the center.
Cut a 3" piece of Purple 3/8" Tricolor Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front so it is centered over the leg of the cake stand.
