Gift Wrapped Ombre Bow Present |
P retty card perfect for lots of occasions using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and glimmer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 4-1/4" from Mango Melody or Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/2" from Mango Melody or Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Rainbow Glimmer Paper, cut so you get the ombre effect from orange to yellow or from blue to green on the horizontal strip
- 3/4" x 2-1/2" from Daffodil Delight or Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Insert the large, white rectangle into the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine platform and run through the machine.
Insert the Mango Melody or Coastal Cabana strips into the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder so the ripples will run horizontally across the horizontal strips. Place the folder with the paper strips inside on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine platform and run through the machine.
Adhere the short, dry embossed Mango Melody or Coastal Cabana strip to the dry embossed white rectangle so it is vertical on the horizontal rectangle. The left side of the strip should be about 1" from the left side of the white rectangle. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock on the top and bottom edges.
Adhere the long, dry embossed Mango Melody or Coastal Cabana strip to the dry embossed white rectangle so it is horizontal on the horizontal rectangle and crosses over the vertical strip. The tope edge of the strip should be about 3/4" to 1" from the top edge of the white rectangle. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock on the left and right edges.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle with colored strips attached to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Gift Wrapped Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large bow with a wide center stripe image from the Gift Wrapped Set on Block D. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal glimmer paper strip so the darker edge of the glimmer paper is at the top of the bow. Leave room to punch out the image in a later step.
Lay the stamped glimmer paper strip on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Unlock the Gift Bow Builder Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped and heat embossed bow into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Daffodil Delight or Granny Apple Green strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter label top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Adhere the "wrapped especially for you" sentiment from the Gift Wrapped Set on Block B. Carefully ink up only the words "especially for you" by pressing the stamp to the open Mango Melody or Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment on the right side of the punched sentiment banner so the punched end of the banner is on the left side. The sentiment should be stamped about 1" from the punched end of the banner. Use Paper Snips or the Paper Trimmer to trim off excess cardstock on the right end of the stamped sentiment banner.
Note: If you are making multiple cards in different colors, make sure you remember to clean your stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy before using a different color of ink.
Adhere the sentiment banner to the front of the card at a slight angle so the punched end of the banner is near the center of the criss-crossed colored strips.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bow punch out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it is centered over the criss-crossed colored strips and covers the punched, left end of the sentiment banner.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 different sized gems from a sheet of Rhinestone Basic Jewels or Gilded Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere the large and small gems to the upper left corner of the card front and the medium gem to the card front just under the center of the sentiment banner.
