Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Crumb Cake Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Bermuda Bay Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 5-1/8" of feathers on white background design from Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, cut so the feathers are horizontal on the horizontal strip
Mount the single bird image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle so the tail is about 3/4" from the left edge and the dirt under the bird's feet is about 1-1/2" from the bottom edge.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Free As A Bird Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Bermuda Bay Ink Pad. Stamp it just to the right of the bird so it will be evenly spaced between the bird and the right edge and is about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge.
Put the bird and sentiment stamped rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring the bird image with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Markers to color in the bird's tail, feathers/back, and top of the head.
Use the Light and Dark Calypso Coral Markers to color in the bird's throat and most of the belly..
Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Markers to color in the bird's bottom and the dirt under his feet.
Use the Light Crumb Cake Marker to color in the bird's beak.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the strip of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to the colored and stamped white rectangle so it covers the bottom of the dirt under the bird's feet.
Adhere the white rectangle to the Bermuda Bay rectangle and then to the front of the Crumb Cake card.
