C ute interactive, Valentine card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from scrap cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square of tiny white hearts on red background design from Most Adored 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" square of Very Vanilla Cardstock
Pick out the long, skinny, bumpy edged strip with a tab die from the Hooray For Surprises Dies. Put it on top of the scrap cardstock rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered side to side, is about 1/4" from the bottom, and the long tab bit is on the right side. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Note: This die does NOT completely cut out the strip. Instead, it perforates the strip so it can be easily torn free later by the person who receives the card.
Carefully tear the perforated strip out of the scrap cardstock.
Put the piece of scrap cardstock with the strip torn out on top of the 4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake rectangle on top of a platform on your Stampin' Emboss Machine so the template is centered over the Crumb Cake piece. Put the long, skinny, bumpy edged strip with a tab die on top of the scrap cardstock rectangle so it is centered in the cut out area. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Hooray For Surprises Set or Country Bouquet Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the tiny "pull" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the tab of the perforated strip on the Crumb Cake rectangle as shown.
Mount the tiny heart image from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the end of the perforated strip on the Crumb Cake rectangle as shown. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it randomly all over the top of the Crumb Cake rectangle above the perforated strip multiple times. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Slightly change the angle of the stamp a bit each time.
Insert the stamped and perforated 4" x 5-1/4" Crumb Cake rectangle into the striped embossing folder included in the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders so the lines will go across the horizontal cardstock horizontally just above the perforated strip. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Cut a 6" piece of the red ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon across the stamped, perforated, and dry embossed Crumb Cake rectangle just above the perforated strip. Fold the ends of the ribbon over to the back and secure in place with small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backings in place for now.
Put the piece of scrap cardstock with the strip torn out of it on top of the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Crumb Cake rectangle so it is centered over the rectangle.
Mount the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" rectangle through the hole cut in the scrap cardstock so it is centered inside the hole.
Remove the protective backings and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the stamped, perforated, and dry embossed Crumb Cake rectangle with ribbon attached well away from the perforated strip. Adhere the rectangle over the sentiment stamped Crumb Cake rectangle making sure that the sentiment will be revealed when the perforated strip on the top Crumb Cake rectangle is torn off.
Important: Make sure NOT to put adhesive on the back of the perforated strip or you won't be able to pull off the strip.
Adhere the assembled Crumb Cake rectangle to the front of the Real Red card.
Pick out the large, open heart without a tab die from the Hooray For Surprises Dies. Put it on top of the Most Adored Designer Paper square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine making sure the printed hearts are right side up inside the heart die. Run through the machine.
Adhere the designer paper heart cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle above the ribbon just to the left of center as shown.
Mount the beaver with twig heart image from the Fluffiest Friends Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla square.
Pick out the matching beaver die from the Fluffiest Friends Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the beaver cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the image as desired.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored beaver cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is just above the ribbon and just overlaps the right side of the designer paper heart cut out.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the red ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front on the left side. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Tip: Save the scrap cardstock with the perforated strip cut out of and removed from it to use as a template on further projects.
