Easy embossed Magnolia thank you |
1
.) This quick and easy card is "stepped up" to elegant with
dry embossing and a metallic foil background. Inside intentionally left blank for a personal thank you greeting but the thank you greeting from Good Morning Magnolia stamp set would work well if you are at a loss for words.
2.). Use Merry Merlot to stamp the "thanks" greeting on bottom left corner..allow ink to dry thoroughly before proceeding to next task.
3.) positon this white piece inside the magnolia embossing folder so the stamped "thanks" greeting on the bottom left corner is touching only the flat non-embossed folder.
Once the white cardstock is run through the magnolias will be visible but subtle everywhere but the left lower corner.

To get the gold foil background on cardfront I tried to get the maximum "bang for my buck" from the beautiful gold foil layer by leaving a mere edge showing on the front. Why waste a lg rectangle of foil hidden underneath the cardstock if only the edge is going to show, right? So instead I cut the layer to the size needed for the card then punch circles from the middle of the layer This gave me scalloped "starburst" gold foil circles for use on another project I've been working on and an "edge" the exact size needed for the middle layer on this card.
So...cut a piece of gold foil in the size needed...and punch out some shapes for a future project, just make sure you leave enough of a solid edge to layer under the top layer of cardstock. For this card, I needed a 4" x 5 .25" edge so I made sure to punch at least far enough inside that measurement to leave 3 /4th inch solid edge around the outside to give me that border. See the photo of my punched out sample piece as an example. I'm making some special cards for a family member using the starburst circles so having extra edge pieces inspired me to use them for these cards for my stamper club ladies. I love the specialty papers but I hate wasting them...soI thank my good Welsh blood for this inspiration! ;;-)
to finish up, adhere the gold foil rectangle onto the Merry Merlot then cover with the embossed white card...thrifty, easy and very elegant!
Don't forget to run the back flap of the envelope through the magnola folder to match up with the white card panel!
