F un card perfect for lots of occasions using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and vellum pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 7" x 8-1/2" and scored at 3-1/2"
- 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 2-1/8" x 8-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 8-1/4" of black map pattern from Vellum 12" x 12" Layering Designs
- 1-3/4" x 8" from Basic White Cardstock
Put a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen along the back of one long edge of the vellum strip. Adhere the vellum strip to the bottom of the horizontal Pool Party strip. When finished, you should have a Pool Party/vellum piece that is 3-1/4" wide.
Pick out the chevrons die from the Slim Card Dies. Put it on top of the Basic Black rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Tip: You are using the rectangle with chevrons cut into it for this project. Save the cut out chevron pieces to use on another project.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the rectangle with chevrons cut into it to the front of the Pool Party/vellum rectangle so all the edges line up.
Cut a 9" piece of the Real Red 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the layered chevron/cardstock/vellum rectangle so it covers the seam between the Pool Party Cardstock and vellum. Flip the rectangle over and secure the ends of the ribbon in place with small strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Tip: If desired, put a horizontal strip of Tear & Tape across the layered rectangle in the center over the seam between the Pool Party Cardstock and vellum. Before laying the ribbon across, remove the protective backing. This will help keep the ribbon laying flat on the card front.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and add more adhesive to the back of the rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Granny Apple Green slimline card.
Mount the convertible with balloons image from the Driving By Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the left end of the horizontal white strip. Don't worry about getting all of the balloons, you'll be cutting them off anyway.
Mount the van image from the Driving By Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal white strip.
Mount the "driving by just to say hi" sentiment from the Driving By Set on Block B. Use the brush tip of the Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write Marker (regular marker) to ink up only the words "Driving By just to say." Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment on the right end of the horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Use the fine tip of the Granny Apple Green Stampin' Write Marker (regular marker) to add three little dots to the end of the "just to say" sentiment.
Unlock the Cloud Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Put the stamped cars white rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the body of the convertible.
Use the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the rims of the convertible tires.
Use the Light and Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends to color in the body of the van.
Use the Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends to color in the rims of the van tires.
Use the Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the tires of both cars
Use the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the bumpers and hubcaps of both cars.
Use the Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the front headlight and windshield on the convertible.
Use the Light So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the tail and head light of the van.
Use the Light and Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends to color in the windows of the van.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove excess color as needed.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the convertible and van by hand. Cut off the balloons.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out cars to the front of the card as shown so they overlap the top of the ribbon a bit.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment cloud punch out to the front of the card as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Real Red 3/8" Faux Linen Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front so it is centered between the left side of the card and left side of the van. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
