Dressed To Impress Bold Lipsticks |
F un card for anyone who loves lipstick using Stampin' Up! products.
|
Cut cardstock and Foil Sheet pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" square from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3 pieces each 1" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3 pieces each 1" square from Silver Foil Sheets
As you are ready to stamp using the Dressed To Impress Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the small grouping of little dots image from the Dressed To Impress Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad and stamp it randomly all over the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the rectangle and rotate the orientation of the stamp every so often. Leave lots of white space.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Pick out the large scribble circle die from the Painted Labels Dies. Put it on top of the Flirty Flamingo square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Mount the "Be as bold as your lipstick" sentiment from the Dressed To Impress Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" white strip, leaving room to punch out the sentiment.
Unlock the 2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch. Get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the center of the scribble circle cut out.
Adhere the matted circle sentiment to the bottom right side of the card front so the bottom of the scribble circle is about 3/4" from the bottom of the card and the right edge of the scribble circle is about 3/8" from the right edge of the card.
Mount the lipstick image from the Dressed To Impress Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it once on each of the remaining small white strips. Remember to re-ink the stamp with the Memento Pad each time. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub. Leave the stamp on the block.
Tip: You MUST use the Memento Ink Pad for this step since you are going to be coloring the image with the Stampin' Blends. You don't want the image to smear and ruin your Stampin' Blends.
Pick out the lipstick die from the All Dressed Up Dies. One at a time, put it on top of a stamped lipstick image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool. Repeat until you have cut out all three lipstick images.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Cut a 3-3/4" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Place the ribbon on the Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the brush tip of the Poppy Parade Dark Stampin' Blends to color one side of the ribbon until it reaches the color saturation you want. Set the ribbon aside to dry.
Place the stamped and cut out lipsticks on the Grid Paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark and Light Poppy Parade Markers to color in one of the lipstick tube bottoms and the lipstick itself. Don't worry about coloring in the central barrel area, it will be covered later by a Foil Sheet cut out.
Use the Dark and Light Flirty Flamingo Markers to color in another of the lipstick tube bottoms and the lipstick itself. Don't worry about coloring in the central barrel area, it will be covered later by a Foil Sheet cut out.
Use the Dark and Light Rich Razzleberry Markers to color in the final lipstick tube bottom and the lipstick itself. Don't worry about coloring in the central barrel area, it will be covered later by a Foil Sheet cut out.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any excess color as needed..
Re-ink the lipstick image on Block G. But, make sure you use the StazOn Ink Pad this time! Stamp it once on each of the Silver Foil Sheet squares so you get the central barrel area of the lipstick tube. Remember to re-ink the stamp with the StazOn Ink Pad each time. Clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and put it away.
Tip: You MUST use the StazOn Ink Pad to stamp on the Foil Sheets so the ink dries quickly and does not smear.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the central barrel lipstick tube images by hand.
Use small bits of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the silver central barrel image cut outs to the centers of the stamped, colored, and cut out lipstick tubes.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the lipstick tubes on the card front to figure out the spacing and layout so they overlap each other and the left side of the matted sentiment circle a bit. When happy, adhere the lipstick tubes in place one at a time using SNAIL Adhesive.
Tie the altered ribbon piece in a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front at a slight angle at the bottom of the lipstick tubes.
Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick to pick out 3 different sized pink gems from the From My Heart Faceted Gems. Press the bottom of the gems to a Mini Glue Dot on the roll of glue dots. As needed, squish the sides of the glue dot in so they are not sticking out over the edges of the gem. Then, adhere the gems randomly to the front of the card.
