Designer Series Paper Wreath |
|
G orgeous little wreath made with some of my retired DSP just to try it out. I'm now planning to get stuck in to some of our gorgeous new Designer Series Papers to make more for friends, family and of course class projects.

This project is ever so easy to do. You could use a glue gun if you wish however I simply used dressmaker pins to attach the paper curls. Simple, easy and effective. If however there are going to be children in the vicinity of the finished projects, I would consider using a glue gun to assemble the wreath, for the sake of health and safety.
You will need between 8 and 10 sheets of 12" x 12" DSP, cut in to 1/2" widths and 1 Polystyrene 1/2 round ring (25cm). Curl the strips with a bone folder, working from the middle of the strip out to the ends. This will in effect then give you two curls.
Start pinning or gluing them to the ring. It will look really odd as you work with it but don't be tempted to abandon the project. It will turn out beautifully in the end.
Keep working until you feel that the wreath is 'full' enough for your liking. I basically worked my until there wasn't a centimetre of space showing.
The picture actually doesn't do it justice. I now need to put the ribbon on. (that's a job for tomorrow).
Enjoy.
P.S - in the listed 'Supplies' I've suggested some DSP Packs that you may like to check out in the current promotion. Do note however that Petal Garden, Colour Theory and Wood Textures are paper stacks therefore 6" x 6". You could indeed use these however you will need to pin them by the ends and not the middle of the curl (and would need to cut more sheets. Check out my blog for more detail.
