Dance With Me Tango XOXO |
F un Valentine's Day or anniversary card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 4-1/2" of mottled dark red and pink design from Marbled Elegance 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 4-1/2" of swirled reds, pinks, white, and gold design from Marbled Elegance 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Real Red Cardstock
Insert the large white rectangle into the Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder so it is vertical in the vertical folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
Pick out the postage stamp rectangle die that measures 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of one short edge of one of the Marbled Elegance Designer Paper strips on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it will cut about 1/4" off the short edge only. Run through the machine. Repeat on the other end of the designer paper strip. Then, repeat with the other designer paper strip on both ends.
Adhere the cut down designer paper strips to the front of the card as shown so they overlap each other at a slight angle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Dance With Me Set or Hearts Of Elegance Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the couple dancing the tango image from the Dance With Me Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the image in the center of the white square.
Pick out the heart die that cuts out a heart that is 2-3/8" across from the Hearts Of Elegance Dies. Put it on top of the dancing couple stamped square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you cut out the top part of the couple and they are centered side to side. Run through the machine.
Put the stamped heart cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface because the Stampin' Blends do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color the man's shirt and the woman's skirt.
Use the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color the man's pants and the woman's shirt.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends of choice to color in the couples' skin and hair.
Use the thin tip of the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to add some color to the woman's mouth.
Use the Color Lifter as needed to remove excess ink as needed.
Mount the music notes image from the Dance With Me Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it on either side of the dancing couple on the heart cut out as shown. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Use the edge of the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to carefully outline the edges of the heart cut out.
Adhere the stamped, outlined, and colored heart cut out to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle so it overlaps the left edge of the leftmost designer paper strip a bit and is near the top of the designer paper strips.
Pick out the postage stamp rectangle die that measures 1-1/8" x 1-7/8" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the Real Red rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Put the die back on top of the cut out rectangle lining up the cutting edges so you'll cut off one long edge making the cut out a bit skinnier.
Tip: It may be easier to put the die on the platform cutting side up and then put the cut out rectangle on top of it so you can line up all the cutting edges.
Mount the "xoxo" sentiment from the Hearts Of Elegance Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the cut down small postage stamp rectangle.
Adhere the sentiment postage stamp rectangle cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the right side of the rightmost designer paper strip and the bottom of the heart cut out a bit.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/4" Satin Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle where the heart cut out and sentiment cut out meet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 large hearts from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
