Daffodil Daydream Pink Daffodil Easter |
P retty Easter card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/8" x 5-1/4" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Daffodil Daydream Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the thin strip of Petal Pink about 1" from the right edge.
Mount the lattice line image from the Daffodil Daydream Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it down the center of the stamped Petal Pink strip so the right end of the image is about 3/16" from the left edge of the sentiment. Make sure you have some Grid Paper under the cardstock to protect your work space. Re-ink the stamp with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad and stamp it again on the right side of the sentiment with the same spacing.
Adhere the stamped Petal Pink strip to the center of the Poppy Parade strip. The right and left edges will be even.
Adhere the matted strip to the bottom of the large Petal Pink rectangle about 5/8" from the bottom edge. The right and left edges will be even.
Adhere the Petal Pink rectangle with matted sentiment strip attached to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the single daffodil image from the Daffodil Daydream Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle near the bottom.
Mount the butterfly image from the Daffodil Daydream Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the stamped white rectangle. Leave room between the butterfly and daffodil images to cut them out with the dies.
Pick out the matching, large, single daffodil die and larger, open butterfly die from the Daffodil Dies. Put them on top of the stamped daffodil and butterfly images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Put the daffodil and butterfly cut outs on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Poppy Parade and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the daffodil flower and butterfly as shown.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the stems and leaves of the daffodil.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the colored daffodil cut out to the front of the card on the left side so the bottom of the stem just overlaps the bottom of the matted sentiment strip and the left edge of the image is about 1" from the left of the card edge.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the colored butterfly cut out at a slight angle to the upper right side of the card front as shown.
Cut a 5" piece of the White 3/4" Frayed Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front so it is centered over the bottom of the stem at a slight angle.
