Cutest Halloween Treat Yourself Pillow Boxes |
C ute Halloween treat packages using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 4-1/2" x 6" from cardstock (I used Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather)
- 4-1/2" x 6" of favorite design from Cute Halloween 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2" from cardstock (choose whichever color you used for the base of the box, I used Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather)
If you are changing the background color of the piece of designer paper you choose, then rub a Blending Brush across the open Ink Pad (I used Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather) to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the designer paper. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use Stampin' Seal+ to adhere the designer paper rectangle to the large cardstock rectangle. Put adhesive all over the back of the designer paper before adhering so that almost every bit of designer paper will be firmly stuck down.
Pick out the pillowbox die from the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. Put it on top of the designer paper adhered to cardstock rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.
Pick out the small, solid die with a straight edge on one side and a curved edge on the other with bumpy curves in each bump from the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. Put it on top of the designer paper adhered to cardstock rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered inside the bumps of the flap of the pillowbox die. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Use a Bone Folder to fold the box cut out on all straight lines. Carefully fold along all curved lines as well.
Fold the box up so the curved flaps on the sides will be open on the back side of the completed box. Put the Tear & Tape on the inside edge of those curved edges. Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and secure the ends of the box together.
Mount the "You put a smile on my face" or "trick or treat" sentiment from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up using the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the small cardstock (I used Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather) rectangle.
Pick out the rectangular label die from the Pretty Pillowbox Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die with the ribbon hole on the left or top side depending on the sentiment you used. Run through the machine.
Fill your pillowbox with treats and fold the flap closed.
Cut a length of Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon long enough to wrap around the filled box and be able to tie a knot in the ends.
Wrap the ribbon around the center of the filled box. Slide one end of the ribbon through the bumpy slit cut into the center bump on the flap. Secure the ribbon with a half knot just above the bumpy slit cut into the center bump on the flap. Slide the sentiment label cut out onto one loose end of the ribbon. Tie in place using a knot. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
For a cat box:
Mount the solid cat head image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Ink Pad (I used Pumpkin Pie and Highland Heather). Stamp it on one end of the horizontal white strip so the ears are pointing down.
Mount the outline cat head image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped solid cat head.
Mount the detailed cat face image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped cat head image.
Unlock the Halloween Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped cat head into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cat head punch out to the lower left side of the box front.
For a ghost box:
Mount the solid ghost image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Highland Heather Ink Pad. Stamp the image on one end of the vertical white strip so the tip of the image is on the bottom.
Mount the outline ghost image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the image over the top of the previously stamped ghost image.
Mount the ghost face and arms image from the Cutest Halloween Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped ghost image.
